ABOUT ME:

I will be 40 on June 30, 2007. I was born in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. My family moved to Northern California, (the San Francisco East Bay Area, City of Danville), in 1974. We lived there through the middle of 1978. In late 1978, we moved back to Illinois, (City of Palatine), due to my father's job transferring us there. In 1981, we moved ourselves back to Danville, California.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
BELIEF IN GOD, BELIEF IN E.T.:

I have been a LONG TIME Sci-Fi fan. (Since about age 5 1/2.) I grew up on Star Trek, (TOS), reruns, Star Trek the Animated Series, Star Wars, (seen 20 Times in 1977), Logan's Run, Buck Rogers, etc, etc.

Because of the above, I have always believed in the existence of Extraterrestrial Life. Also, (and NOT contrary to), I am a Christian. God created the UNIVERSE. He created ALL life therein. How can we NOT believe that E.T. is out there?

The more we search, (truly dedicated searching; like SETI programs), for E.T. in this HUGE Universe, the sooner we will eventually find E.T. Even if the first signs of E.T. that we come across are radio and TV signals from a race long since dead; that is still proof that life outside this small planet existed. If that life existed, (and upon proof of that life), it then becomes even easier to believe that EVEN MORE LIFE still exists out there.

SETI:

I was introduced to the SETI@Home project through a friend of mine in late 1998, early 1999. (After reading several recent message posts at the SETI Site, I find that the SETI@Home Project officially went public in 1999; however, my memory tells me that my friend was involved with it in 1998.) Possibly, my friend may have been involved in the very late testing of the site prior to the official public release; or, my memory could be flawed and indeed he may have introduced me to the project in 1999. Regardless, I was IMMEDIATELY INTRIGUED.

However; at that time, I did NOT have a Net/Web connection, the electricity to run a computer indefinitely, (as my friend had), nor the other physical and monetary resources to effectively run and participate in SETI@Home. Now, things have changed and I have been able to join in with the efforts of ALL of the various teams and individuals involved with this project.

I look forward to remaining involved with this project for a long, long time to come. In close, (and quoting my favorite fictitious race), Infinite Diversity In Infinite Combinations; IDIC. Live Long and Prosper.
