Why don't some people use the reply and quote buttons? Is it the new fad or 'in' thing to not quote or reply to posts when addressing what someone said? What Mods and buttons? Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |

And why are most people that do this from the UK? Is the use of quotes discouraged in the UK? LOL Yeah. I was wondering about this too...I'm quite sure I use the quote button despite being from the UK :D Reality Internet Personality |

And why are most people that do this from the UK? Is the use of quotes discouraged in the UK? LOL Yer not hated Andy, So don't worry, Now the volcanic backlog is slowly being cleared, Of course the news said those who have been waiting have to go to the back of the line and wait, Instead of being cleared out first. I don't worry ;) Yes, the problem the airlines have is that it is far too disruptive to keep rescheduling flights to pick up those that are stranded, so those people will either have to wait for empty places on future flights or find their own way back - my Dad is still amongst the stranded! The volcano continues to belch out steam & ash even now! |

So Andy, did the wind shiftdirections or did the ash cloud disapate. Why are they flying if ash is still in the air? [/quote] Old James |

It's to do with eating SpagBol eaten the previous evening which made the aero-decision makers think the "right kind of ash" is now flying around. Six days ago it was the "wrong kind of ash" and that would damage the turbine blades in a jet engine's combustion side and beyond. This was due to the combustion temperatures of 1100+c melting the glass and silica, which goes in to a sticky phase and coats turbine blades. This changes the aerofoil shape of those blades and wrecks engine performance, efficiency, etc. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

In short, No thrust=worlds biggest glider(flying brick anyone?), Sounds almost like the 4 space shuttles that We are about to retire(or 6 If You count the 2 that were destroyed), One is Enterprise, Never used except for testing, It was supposed to be refitted with heat shields and engines, But due to cost, was never done. Me I have to buy a new drip coffee maker on the 1st(current one leaks water out of the bottom), 9 days without coffee :(, Tea from now till I get the new one... I'm looking at a 12 cup Mr Coffee Drip Coffee Maker, Any preferences? Something inexpensive, that can stand hard water. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
