It's amazing what people can be afraid of, so what is your fear? Do you have any phobia's of some kind?

Look at these links to get inspired and maybe put a name on your special fear or phobia:

Dictionary.com/phobia

The Phobia List

-phobia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I found this in the Wiki: Luposlipaphobia - The fear of being pursued by timber wolves around a kitchen table while wearing socks on a newly-waxed floor :-D (It's a joke from Gary Larson's The Far Side!)

Personally I had a Arachnophobia untill some years ago, where I started to work with it, as it became very unhandy to live in a house with garden and being scared of spiders, as they come inside from the garden every autumn, so now I can even enjoy looking at the tarantulas, and I even think they are very gracious and some fascinating creatures! I still haven't had the experience of holding a tarantula in my hand yet, but that will come!

But try to look at these beauties: Tarantulas.com

Specially this one is just as beautiful as a gemstone!

And I don't panic anymore, when I see a spider crawling on the floor or sitting in the shower curtain!

Fear of Skiing?

Squirrels (BTW, that would be the correct name for it), but it was really just setting up a really bad joke.

In real life, the closest thing I have to a phobia is ladders. Not heights, or even being "in the open" high up, I just hate being on ladders.

If you have Doxophobia (fear of receiving praise) or Prosophobia (fear of progress) or Tropophobia (fear of making changes), how does the shrink reassuringly let you know that you're making progress against your fear?

How do you tell a sufferer of Euphobia (fear of good news) that the condition is not as bad as originally diagnosed?

How do you explain to a patient that he suffers from Hellenologophobia (fear of Greek terms or complex terminology)?

The doctors who coined the terms Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia and Sesquipedalophobia (both fear of long words) were jackasses...

Is hypnotherapy a good treatment choice for Hypnophobics (who fear being hypnotized)?

A new drug has been invented to treat Neopharmaphobia (fear of new drugs) and Pharmacophobia (fear of taking drugs)! Okay, so it's a placebo.

No animals were harmed in the making of the above post... much.

Fear of Crap! Craprophobia...
"coprophobia," a word derived from the Greek "kopros" (dung) and "phobos" (fear)

There's the old standby that many hotel architects seem to have: triskaedekaphobia. (Fear of the number 13)

I suppose Asians, by comparison, would have quatrophobia? (Fear of the number 4)

Fear of spiders. I'd rather have a clown scuttling across my ceiling than a spider.

..and one I've just discovered: Fear of being stranded somewhere with Spectrum when he has nothing but Brussel Spouts to sustain him.
