I'm originally from the West Coast, but moved a little inland to the deserts. I worked as a transportation safety specialist, since retired, and have traveled extensively through out the US and overseas. I love to travel because it affords me the greatest opportunity to meet people of all kinds, a learning process if you will. Beyond a formal education, what you learn from others, i.e. your informal education is just as valuable. There are a few exceptions, however, such as a few uppity British working-class types, but that's another story.
And always remember, there is life out there outside of the internet.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
We might actually find something interesting if they'd only start crunching the candidate signals...
