Personal background
Ive always been interested in technology, gadgets and computers since i was young which has ended up with me working in IT for the last few years.

Prior to this i was working on engineering projects mostly for utility companies in the UK but always looking for ways to use technology to make things a little more interesting and efficient

I'm a self educated programmer - mainly windows and web - and this is usually done to manipulate data to make it more understandable - bit like SETI - but definitely not on such a grand scale!

My current job involves sitting between the business and IT doing the translation of requirements back and forth between geek speak and english :)

Oh as you can tell by the picture i like cats!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Hmm why do i run SETI - well i have always thought it is cool and searching for the first "hello" is something worth doing as if you do not look then you are not going to find anything

the project has been running for 11+ years now and although i have been more away than participating i have always been interested in how it was getting along

- as its quite mature now maybe we need to freshen things up a bit as it would be a shame if the interest were to decline further in what i think is a worthwhile project to analyse data from the heavens looking for that small first message - hopefully saying hello!
