Server status page hasn't been updated recently, but the network activity is starting to pick up.

I'm now getting error 500 instead of 403 - beta too - so it's server problems?

Something is happening . . . things are changing!

Patience is a virtue . . .

Well I get http errors on my side, unable to UL results for more than 15 hours… and the normal outage is on wednesday, tuesday one is limited.

also I've marked my only 4.18 WU did UL ok, not the Enhanced.

There was no outrage today, as normal, and everything now seems to be up and running again.

The http errors on results uploads, I believe, are related to the servers being swamped with requests. This is the same at the end of any outrage, so it is patience that counts until it clears itself.

At least the 403 error problem now appears to have been solved.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Hey, I just got a WU uploaded, after numerous I/O errors and Error 500s. Nine more WUs waiting to upload.

No outrage around here? That can’t be normal!

Sorry. ;)

With all the patients around, I wonder. :)

Meds anyone?

All of our splitters have been altered to create workunits for SETI@home enhanced. Thanks, for your patients during this transition.

A cascade of problems today caused inability to return results and later, the inability to download new work. One of the data servers lost the ability to see the upload directory. After reboot, it temporarily lost the ability to see the entire network.

I know (no newbie), but it took 17 hours to get thru today… a _little_ bit more than usual, no? sigh. I was testing for an optimized version and I needed to know if the units were ok or not.

I lost a WU report during this outage. I shut down Boinc with the WU uploaded but not reported. I had a change to make in the app_info file, made the change and sometime later started Boinc back up. Boinc says it can't 'link' to the file - the app_info change was to remove a 5.13 reference.

Anyway, the WU was uploaded but not reported.

This one: 325916112

I assume my report (and 4hrs of time) is gone forever - sorry to the other guys waiting for the quorum.

I see that the BOINC computers have started to Delete all signs of my 50+ hours worth of completed work that came up Validation error due to the glitch on the 16th. No credit. Out of sight out of mind????

I know this is about the science, but the loss of that amount of work is discouraging. Add in the computer melt down I had today due to a beautiful day (extremely hot weather) and thus a warm computer operating enviroment, now for the first time in six years I'm seriously beginning to wonder if SETI is worth it for me anymore...

I'd hate to bail on a project that I have invested so much time, money and effort into, but I have to admit, I'm discouraged. I'll continue to crunch and hang in there for now, but for how much longer I don't know... :(

as well as getting a 403 when trying to upload to SETI, i'm also getting a 403 when trying to download from SETI beta

although i can contact both schedulers with no problems, so i think this must be a data server issue (both projects use the same data server as far as i know)
I'm also getting hung units on Seti Main & Beta - and the status blocks are all on green. Must be in the connections somewhere . . .
that be it, however a 403 isn't really an appropriate error, it means that access to the web resource (the upload handler or file to download) was denied, rather than not available, a 404 would be more appropriate, but if things are getting confused

i see that things must be working again now, due to the 403's not appearing anymore, my units uploaded while i was out, and now many people seem to be getting 500 or I/O errors, which is good, because it means it's a bandwidth/performance issue, and the 403 error has been fixed :)

I Just now tried The Retry Now Button In Bionic manager/Transfers/Retry Now:

And still getting error 403! So I guess it's not fixed, on my 5.15 version anyway!

Have I missed the thread where your problem was investigated? Is there one? I'd rather read about what's been tried before asking the same questions over again, and bothering you.
