Vic, you DO know everybody is actually kidding about stuffing their pets, right?

No and My stomach was upset last night, I've actually barfed here at My desk before, all it takes is some coughing, I'm better now though.

Sorry about that Vic.

The pic is obviously disturbing, but that is because we have been conditioned to view some animals as pets and some as food etc.

I will keep all my furballs firmly on the ground, as the airways locally seem to be full of flying radio controlled moggies.

I'm pretty sure I would find a cow spread out like that even more disturbing.

I find the whole thing rather disturbing and a bit sikko.

When my kitties pass, they shall be laid to rest beneath the trees in my back yard where they may enjoy their eternal rest peacefully.

I have read that there are pet mortuaries that will embalm or cremate your pet, and even arrange a funeral service.

When my dog Midnight died last year, I took her body to the local SPCA. They charged me $25 to dispose of her. Not sure whether they cremate or take the bodies to a rendering plant. To me it doesn't really matter. Their spirit has departed, flown off like a butterfly, and the body a cocoon left for the earth to recycle. I have the love, and the memories, that is what is important.

But no, I would not turn any pet into a playtoy, or otherwise abuse the body.

I've never looked at one of my goldfish and thought: "That fish would make an excellent remote controlled car".

Because the remote's knackered :)

Yes it is Chris, but no more disturbing then seeing animal rugs, heads on the wall etc pp.
Nobody needs to go overboard for that. Now when I read about poaching stories, those are some very sick people.

All this reminds me of the old story about Roy Rogers (you kids can Goggle the name).

He had his dog Bullet stuffed when it died, then he had his horse Trigger stuffed when it died. His wife spent her remaining years hoping Roy went before she did.

Roy to Trigger: Howz 'bout some oats, old friend?

Trigger to Roy: No thanks, Roy, I'm stuffed.

Over 30 years I have 6 cats buried in my back garden. I know where they are, and they are far enough down to remain at peace even when I have gone. Yes I echo Mark, even in fun it is a bit disturbing. People like Damien Hurst should be thrown overboard in mid Atlantic and good riddance.

legally speaking, this is forbidden in Germany - prevention of spreading disease. As if the standard pet carried plague.
pratically most people will still bury their pet in the garden if the can.

That's Macintosh. He is 17, and the same cat I posted a couple of years ago that was sitting at the table with his plate in front of him.

Steve

He was much younger then.

You ever hear that saying that peoples pets look like them?

;-)

That cat has Steve's beard! :-)

The race horse "I'll have another" is retiring due to injuries, so No triple crown attempt this year at the Belmont.

And on the subject of the cat-copter. (this has been EVERYWHERE in the past couple days)

I find it weird and disturbing. I would never do such a thing. It's just creepy.

However, they guy didn't do anything wrong. It's no different than having a taxidermist stuff your pet so you can keep it (another thing I personally wouldn't do, but nothing wrong with it).

So, disturbing? yes.

Is he "bad", no. (just a little weird)

On that note, I wonder if the cat-copter is good at chasing red laser dots?

Good! I'd rather see that horse retired, than put at risk to benefit it's owners.

If the horse didn't have any swelling, in the legs most likely, then the horse would be racing one last time, as the horse seems to like running. And yes I'm glad the horse can now just be put out to hopefully sire the next generation of horses. Tendonitis was mentioned on the local TV News.

I thought it was a joke until I found the article.
imo, that is a very disrespectful thing to do to a beloved animal friend.
We have home funerals if one of ours pass. Making a toy out of a dead pet bespeaks to me of a troubled mind that could do such a thing...
