Hi Beets Hi John!!! Thank you kindly for those encouraging words. It's happening slower than I thought, but I guess I shouldn't be getting down on myself. That won't be any use at all. Your friendship is a blessing to me! GOD BLESS!!! Beets |

Beets, Just, take each day as it comes. If you plot a graph of your recovery you will see the trend will be progesively improving, but it will be in a saw tooth shape. You will have some better days and then you may run into a bad day that will cause your recovery to slip backward. I can tell that you are getting better by your postings. Pellinore |

Hi John, caseychief!!! Thanks a million for keeping the place going while I was doing all my running around!!! True Friends you are! :]] Today's Update: Yesterday I spent time with the banks. The folks at my bank were great! :]] The people at my father's bank were just awful, they couldn't have been worse or less cooperative. :]] Let me tell you that you find out what a bank is like when you need them. Two things about banking that I'd like to pass on to you are these... First, if you tell them that somebody has died, don't expect to get any money through their ATM's or from their safety deposit boxes, or in any other way, even if you have passwords, Powers of Attorney..whatever. The moment they hear of a customer's death, they freeze all their assets and holdings at the bank. That means you wont get to use any of it for several months, after the probate court hearings on the will are finally complete. That's worth remembering, I think. The other thing is concerning paying bills by automatic electronic payments from your bank account(s). The interesting thing I learned yesterday is that the banks are not authorized to cancel such an arrangement. It is up to the party deducting the money from your account to end the arrangement. If you want to stop payment on a given deductor, you have to put in (and pay fees for) at stop payment order for each time the amount is to be deducted. Your only other way to get away from these automatic electronic deductions from any one party, is to close the bank account entirely, with all the inconvenience that's involved with that. That's worth remembering too, depending on what you get enticed into. This morning I was in a race in time against a coming snowfall, to get my most important errands done. I'm glad to say I managed to do that. But it's been like being at work. Thank goodness it's Friday. :]] GOD BLESS!!! Beets |

Hi Beets, I hope you are doing well I have been away for a few days with computer problems, got them solved for now though. I think that everyone here should know about living trusts. There is no probate with them as everything is in the trust, and whomever the trustee is administers the trust so that there are no problems with banks etc. Your attorney can help you set one up. But check the fees that he/she charges for that service. you might be able to have it done for less. What you do today you will have to live with tonight |

Dear Friends!!! I'm sorry I haven't been on the board the last few days. I had lots of money troubles I was working out, so I wouldn't have been very good company. But mainly, it kept me very busy. An update: I called Darren, the manager of the funeral home, and told him to drop by with his release form, that I'd sign it. I decided I didn't need to work through Dad's ashes; like I said, I 'recognize' him. Darren came over lickety-split and was happy over all of this. I'm invited there for coffee whenever I'm in the west end of town. I told him I might well take him up on it. I've gotten 3/4 of Dad's funeral money out, so that's good too. The White Elephant of my home eats up a huge amount of money in utilities each month. I've been paying off a $4,800 heating bill, and that's just for two months, although they've been cold months to be sure. I also had to sell my yacht "The Steadfast" for far below it's real market value. I need the money and life comes with some losses too, so that's that. It's been a bit rough this last week, but I'm holding up. I hope so, anyways. Hey! It's Friday!!! I hope everyone's set for a good weekend. :]] GOD BLESS!!! Beets |
