Same here ! What do you know about "Gridcoin" . Is that legit ? Seems to use BOINC for distributed mining. TIA Gridcoin is legit but don't expect to get rich (unless Gridcoin becomes the next big thing in crypto...seems unlikely but you never know). You'll earn more by mining another crypto but with Gridcoin you get to participate in useful work and perhaps earn a few pennies along the way. Basically you just run BOINC like you usually do, install and setup the Gridcoin wallet, and you are good to go. |

... Of course! This is all just a setup for the largest April Fools joke in S&H history! |

... Of course! Hi Swabbie, The day before April Fools Day... Hmmm... Never thought of that. Would be hilarious if you are correct. ;) I haven't done anything to my garden of computers to crunch other projects. :) Several years ago a radio station in San Diego got hundreds of people parked out by Montgomery Field airport waiting for the space shuttle to land. Never did and I didn't get hooked. :) Have a great day! :) Siran CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. What is meant by "diminishing returns"? You do more of the same thing and get fewer rewards. Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Same here ! What do you know about "Gridcoin" . Is that legit ? Seems to use BOINC for distributed mining. TIA Better to have your computers do something useful, as in crunch for science and get paid a bit, than simply burning power for crypto which does nothing useful other than stake the blockchain. ... Perhaps ET exists or conveys their messages in the dark matter realm. - or + 80% more likely. |

What is meant by "diminishing returns"? Sometimes it means the inability to see changes with an invigorated perspective or with fresh eyes. It's not always about the numbers. I see in this thread a lot of people who don't post much but contribute massively. All have come to say that SETI is not a diminishing return but a living value. After all what is the point in finding ET if we don't care or have no vested interest in growing and exploring the new. SETI crunchers, their inputs, willingness to pay their way and this forum's members are all a positive return. I hope the bosses of this project realise this potential and find a way of keeping us together and crunching for SETI. After all SETI can crunch anything related to ET not just archain radio signals. . |

Dear Crew, With the advent of the ending of SETI Data crunching my computer ( small and meager as it is ) is now free since 2002, I have been crunching continuously for 18 years. I am seeking suggestions of which one of the many BIONIC projects needs our help the most, or which has the most significance socially or scientifically? Thanks again. Blanchjoe |

Will you consider increasing or even removing deadlines to finish all WU's? There will be no more WU's after March 31st however the WU's we already have may reach the deadline after then and we can't finish them. |

UNLV here has some (or had? believe they still do) some supercomputers locally at a Switch Network center. Wonder if that is ever feasible for helping sift through the collected data? What if the client was retooled to process all this data (assuming we've just done one form of processing) Would that lower time needed to crunch it all? Complete layman here, fully respect much of this is above my 5th grade education.
