My computer successfully completes scheduler connection only about half the time. Cache is full. East Coast U.S. location. |

Some stats on this problem - from the UK, using BT as the ISP. Yesterday (01 October), this machine's scheduler requests (report completed tasks, request new work) were: Failed: 164 Succeeded: 152 So far on 02 October - 10 hours in my time zone - the numbers are Failed: 58 Succeeded: 61 So I'd say it's still near enough 50-50 - no better, no worse. |

My ISP is BT and I have been unable to report any work since about 1400 on 30 Sept even (ab)using update many times. Why is it many can report and some cannot? |

According to David the routing problem is fixed. Yeah,...YOU. LOL, you are the miscreant doing all this/ I blame YOU..... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Good question. Round-robin DNS server / router? |

Good question. Not DNS. The scheduler only has a single IP address, and we try that same IP every time. But routing - aye, there's the rub. |

Following up yesterday's hint of a circular route, I got an interesting result (unfortunately not reproducible) from http://traceroute.nmonitoring.com/?ip=setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu&pingsub=1&ln=en traceroute to 208.68.240.126 (208.68.240.126), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets Loopback from et3-47.inr-311 to et3-48.inr-311, when trying to reach the scheduler? |

Can't report finished tasks, can't get new tasks, can't reach the Boinc download page to dl the package with virtual box so I can run vlhc instead of Seti, and once again nobody seems to care. At least I can't find any official word on the homepage or on the forums. Amen, bro. New slogan: SETI Sucks |

I'm done. This is ridiculous! I will not wast electricity and computer wear and tear waiting on an unreachable server. I'll check back in a couple days from now and if SETI still exists I may process some work again. Berkeley IT,...........your Education tax dollars at work......... It's time to return to use a proxy... This worked! On one of my machines... Unfortunately I can't do this on all my machines. I hope this gets resolved soon. |

It's all my fault. I have a brand new machine I'm trying to get set up. I remember something like this happening the last time. Sorry guys. :-p |
