Glad to hear everything is going great.

When you are all healed up, before you opt for lasik or something else have a long talk with the eye doctor. Make sure you understand all the downsides of lasik in addition to the up side, because they can't un-do it. This because I have a coworker who says it is fantastic 95% of the time, but the other 5% they wish they had stuck with glasses.

As to your reading, don't forget your age. As everyone gets old they end up needing reading glasses.

( Heck I could have told her that:) ) In about a year 2 at the most I will need done what you have had done. So I will PM you then:) Im happy that it has worked out so well for you.

Will post some more news later, but the second eye was done on Monday and is in the recovery stage. The operation itself went just fine, and now I must enable every bit of my patience as I work through the adjustment stage, healing process, and waiting for my brain to rewire itself to get both eyes to work together again. It's going to be a bit trying going back to work tomorrow.

My wee adopted Calico is snoozing on some bubble wrap on a pile of boxes - as happy as Larry.

Kitties are doing OK........

Squirrel the Miracle Kitty is still holding her own on her meds.
Lori's little Callie is not doing so well.....despite IV subq fluids twice a week, she is getting more frail by the week. Her time, I'm afraid, is drawing near.
Tigger II, Bandit, and Purrball are just as fat and sassy as ever, and Lori's new Maine Coon brothers Leo and Ty are just as cute and rambunctious as any kittens could be.

As for the ol' Kittyman.......well.......

The eyes are God's blessing and a trial at the same time.
Maybe I expect too much, but although my sight at a distance is rather good, from 8 feet in is rather dicey. I have a pair of Shopko 1.0 readers that are just right for seeing the computer screen 5 feet in front of me.....but don't work too well for anything closer. There is a sweet spot with no glasses about 12 inches in front of me that I can read pretty well.....LOL. Closer or further, it drops off pretty fast.

I have to contemplate a bit when I complain.........

And realize that I now have two little bits of man made plastic in both eyes that allow me to see in place of what God gave me as original equipment. My right eye was pretty much useless to me for the better part of two years. And I can now go outside and enjoy the view.

Pretty awesome in so many ways! So.......

I am a happy kitty, and will work through whatever it takes to get to the end point. And be thankful for whatever it is at that time.

If anybody is at the point where they can no longer see clearly through either or both eyes, and glasses can no longer help.....
I would not hesitate to recommend the procedure to replace cataract impaired lenses with what medical science can now provide.

Even if imperfect (and you have to realize that I am a nitpicking perfectionist), it is humbling to realize what a gift I have received.

Not too many years ago, I would have had no other recourse other than to be deemed 'legally blind', and spend the rest of my life staring at shadows.

Nearfield vision is still not doing real well, but the overall improvement is great.

Going to test out both eyes in about an hour......
Lori and I and going to see the Special Edition re-release of Avatar in 3d. Something that I could not have even tried to enjoy for the last few years with only 1 eye working much at all.

I'll check in later and let ya know how it went.

My, but that was a wonderful experience.
Avatar in 3D. Never been to a 3D full length before.
The movie was perfectly suited to it, and did not overplay the technology just for cheap effect.
As I said, at longer distances my sight is pretty good now, and the 3D just drove my eyes bonkers once or twice, but it was marvelous.

Had seen the movie on a large screen DVD version before, but it was nothing like this.
Made me cry several times...again.

the 2d version of that movie drove my eyes bonkers at times. So I would not consider that problem if you managed to enjoy it without getting sick or severe headaches.

I think I'll stick with the 2D movies, Why? As everytime I try and watch a 3D movie I see an image on one side in Red and another in Blue on the other and very rarely do they look correct, Besides trying to see a movie in 3D just gives Me a headache.
