I think they never came here. Why would they ? Does our solar system have anything
particular that would have attracted them amoung billions of other stars.
Human has always needed to believe in something and scarred of the unknown.
When we discovered that life might exist outside our solar system people have started
to see UFO's. They don't see angels and dragons anymore.

I also don't believe in UFO's for a very simple reasons. Right now at this very moment there
is no part of the sky that is not being "observed" by someone. Think of all the planes 30000
feets in the air heading all azimuth were pilots have nothing better to do then looking at the
stars. Think of all the the navigation officers and sailors on a dark ship bridge again heading
all azimuth and also having nothing better to do than looking at the dark horizon...
If a UFO is currently enterring our atmosphere there is someone, somewhere who's watching it.

Another reason why I don't believe is absence of proof. Not even a single snap shot or video
that passed the test. Most of them were fake.

It's just a dream.
That is my opinion.

Now I am going to watch the F1 race
Good nignt

I totally agree with you.I believe in them but they are not around our part of the galaxy. They are like billions light years away.

I'm of the opinion that any species technologically advanced enough to travel the immense distances required to make it to our planet isn't going to be the least bit interested in us.

So no, I don't believe in alien abductions or UFO experiences. Yes, I believe there is other intelligent life out there, but they aren't "buzzing" our planet.

You will usually find that the rednecks get the anal probing treatment. This is because their homoerotic fantasies have gotten the best of them and they need a cover-up story to tell the neighbors why they're walking so funny. Or if aliens have actually had a go at them it is because that is the most likely place to find their brain/CNS.

Alien Abduction Ha! It's just another fad just like all these new diets with their promises you can lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks if you take these pills that cost about 6 bucks each. People can be so dumb it makes me laugh. Everybody knows you cant expect to get yor abs to look anything like ducts just by rubbing ale on them every 3 hours like these quack doctors on TV are shilling to anybody who likes to stay up past 4 in the morning. -And yes it's the beer companies who are sponsoring the whole campaign like they dont get enough bucks from all the couch potatos who drink it- now they've got the fools rubbing it on their tummies- even in the breakroom where I work it smells like beer all the time. cheeesh!

Just because some of us don't consider our little piece of rock to be all that interesting to highly advanced civilzations doesn't mean that they don't visit us from time to time. After all, they could be lost and too stubborn to ask for directions!

it always comes back to the anal probe...that primieval fear of having one's anus penetrated by a foreign object...i guess, if you are a male, over 40, all doctors must seem like aliens.

i think that any alien visitation to an individual would seem more like a banal kind of dream than the memories that are usually recollected of alleged alien abductions...if there have been visitations by a peaceful and benevolent species they would take care to leave little evidence behind.

have they taken any of us into space with them and brought us back home...who can tell?...as for me...maybe it really was only a dream...i just can't remember.

I am happy to finaly see someone with a different approach. Your arguments are valuable. I just wonder, would those very advance civilisations really needs to take so many "samples" to analyse us ? Since they have discover the physics needed to travel faster then lights, wouldn't their bio medics knowledges be advance enough to answer all their questions with a simple drop of blood ?
In a few years we will be able to see other planets and analyse their atmosphere and tell if life exist on that planet without leaving the earth. Would a civilisation a million years ahead of us really need to take us on their space ship for month, doing some funny stuff as inserting probes in all our orifices to find out about our DNA and the secrets of our cells ?

Good points. That's basicaly what we are doing with animals. Altough we know a lots about monkeys we will still be observing them and try to understand their evolutions and habits in a thousand year. It is true that observing and studying life on other planets is something all intelligent species would try to do eventually.

I still believe they never came here though, I even think that there might not be as many intelligent life out there as people often think. I sometimes see stars as fish eggs. Some fish lays thousands of eggs because just a few will survive. This vision of the universe implied that there is an intention behind all this. God ? I don't know. One thing for sure is that it looks like if all the forces in the univers have been properly adjusted to creates life. A little bit more gravity force or a little bit less of electromagnetic force and the universe as it is now would have never emerged. To make it simple, If god wanted to create a living world, he would have setup the laws of physics exactly like they are and they would have appeared exactly when they did during the evolution of the universe.

I do belive we are not alone, but I think we are among the lucky "eggs". There could very well be just a few dozens of living planets in our intire galaxy. Taking that into consideration and the fact that the univers is so huge, I think we are completely ignored, orbiting around normal star at the edge of our Galaxy and nobody knows or care if we exist.

Dark vision isn't it ?

EDIT // I agree for the probes...

As far as alien abduction goes, I personally do not know any aliens who have been abducted :)

I don't think abducting aliens is really a good idea. If the word gets out that the earth is one of those bad neighborhoods no one is going to stop by and we'll be stuck on this ball of mud all by ourselves until we actually develop our own FTL drive...grin...........peristalsis

Petit soleil is an affective name I use to call my wife. It would be more
like little sun or little star in english. She was next to me when I have joined
SETI and didn't know what nick name to use so I choose Petit Soleil. I sometimes
call her "petite abeille" or "petite crapule" but since Petit Soleil was on toppic...

Where Petit Soleil come from ? I have met my wife on the cruise ship I was working
at that time and I took her on the bridge at night after we had a few drinks
(it's a classic on love boat) and I was telling her about stars and she said that stars
where just like petit soleil and I have found it funny, I have started to call her like
that from there.

Or on South Park.

Another very important reason we would have to examine other lifeforms if we were technologically advanced enough - and a reason another civilization (if there is one) may wish to examine us, would be to try to answer the biggest question of all - "Where do I come from?"

Did we evolve on our little planet in complete isolation from the rest of the universe or are we linked to other lifeforms in the universe through the intervention of another lifeform or divine force, or simply linked with other lifeforms by having our origins from the same organic/chemical building blocks which may have been travelling through space and raining down upon countless planets?

No chance. It seem to be happening mostly in the US. There's got to be
something really interresting for ET in american genes or something...
Or is it a cultural thing ? Anyway if it ever happen I can always count
on them According to the experts there are about two million people in
the United States alone in need of our services.
