I'm happily married and living in Alberta, Canada with a house so full of animals that the average families house full of kids would seem to be a slow and mellow pace to live at. I've been involved with PC's since the beginning and made a living off them for a while then moved in to television production. It has fascinated me over the last 10 years to see my two biggest interests merge together to the point where video production is so reliant on computers and vice-versa: multimedia os such a large component of computer use in everyday life. It stuns me that I can now have a computer that has better video production capabilities than the studio I used to work in.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've had an interest in the cosmos since childhood, mostly due to growing up at the time of the Gemini and Apollo missions and sitting in front of the TV enthralled by them. This seems a perfect way to have my computers kept busy during their idle times, and become part of a community of computers linked together working towards a common goal.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
