In summary, you could just smash your forehead into your keyboard and never come up with a more random sentence than that. I win.

I think Random acts of violence against myself is counter productive...So Excuse me for asking, but WHAT were you summarizing? It certainly wasn't my Conversation over the past how many ever posts... So I guess you are the one with the RANDOM sentence. Oh and your also losing, I might ADD.

At the time a friend of mine was reading that quote on someones blog over the phone to me and this was the only thread it would fit in. Since I didn't "respond" to any post it wasn't aimed at you or anyone else. Paranoia makes you lose; as proved by this winning post.

Let me apologize to you, As I was EXTREMELY frustrated at the time my new SATA2 Hard drive was really giving me fits upon install. After partitioning it, it placed them in opposite order of the way I wanted. So I redid it changing it around then started the task of copying a 22GB onto one of the partitions of the 500 GB drive, I never would have expected it to take over 4 hours. It's not like they were floppies or cassettes(well not really but close this is suppose to be a 7200 RPM drive I thought it was going to be fast)... After it was over, I realized it had actually set it up again opposite of the way I wanted it, so I had WASTED my entire evening and had shut down my Crunching machine hoping it would speed up the process. I am so Unimpressed with Western Digital Disk Tools. I still haven't bothered to try to fix it yet as I have not had the Free time to KILL. Right after I had noticed all of this ridiculous mess, Your post showed up right after mine. I was definately not in the Right frame of mind and thought you were talking directly to me. So for that and anything related to it I am Sorry.

I do disagree with one thing though:
Paranoia makes you lose

Just because I know THEY are out to get me doesn't mean they are not...At least I won't be "surprised" when they make their move... LOL

I have a SATA RAID0 that used to crash repeatedly. It stopped when I left the case off. So I concluded it must have been a heat problem. The HD cage stacks them right on top of each other.

Hybrid says JUMP!

I win.

Morning Misfit.

My cable modem has been resetting itself most of the evening. After hitting several tech forums I found a post that said to disconnect the cable if it runs through a surge protector. Sure enough it was. So now its going directly from the wall to the modem and not a single reset since. According to the boot log the "time of day" it couldn't get before now shows as retrieved.

Well I know this has nothing to do with heat as it has at least two fans blowing very cold air on it and nothing around it. It is also brand new. That was the very first time it had been taken out. I don't know what to think about it...As for your modem I guess it didn't like the surge protector messing with its Electical properties maybe it has a chip in it for cable systems but not the actual DATA line which is very different from my limited understanding of it.

<edit> side panel is off of the comp too, HD is in middle of an empty cage Far far away from the nearest component.

I have had a similar problem here where the surge protector is introducing enough attenuation that the ADSL modem signal falls below the acceptable threshold and causes the modem to cut out. Without the surge protector though I have fried 2 modems in as many years. Can't win eh?

Much more relevant was the fact the forest creatures all each had a keen sense of smell, and the fearsome halitosis and massive BO from the GONK was just too much!.

It was a wonder the GONK had not starved to death many months before, but is was fortunate to be in the presence of a rich food source .... The ....
