I never was a big fan of Pavarotti...but I know he will be sorely missed.

I think many classical music lovers will miss the old bell tent
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

Only two? We'll have to write their parts out of the operas, then. :-P

I am not a fan about classic music, but life must go on.

Rest in peace Mr. Pavarotti. You will be missed.

Hahaha, Jon. I used to confuse those two. I wondered what Pavarotti was doing acting in that Sliders Sci-Fi show......

Now it's just Dom DeLouise I guess. Or is he still alive?

I always thought actor Brian Blessed resembled Luciano Pavarotti especially in the 1980 movie "Flash Gordon".

I must admit I am still a bit teary eyed over the loss of one of God's greatest gifts to this world. The voice of Pavarotti will not soon be eclipsed. Or even met. Many times in his career, he tried to bridge the highbrow world of the 'opera set' with the mainstream world of the rest of us mortals.
My dear uncle introduced me to his wonderful voice some 30 years ago, and I think his voicings of Turandot remain my favorite.
His performance of Nessun Dorma (which had become his keynote aria) at the 2006 Olympics will remain as his legacy, and one of the last performances by this man with God's gift of song.
May he rest in peace. I know he will.

One of my favourite videos of Pavarotti is him singing "Ave Maria" along-side Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries.

I always prefered him when he was a little bit more popularist than classic.

I never liked opera much but sometimes he sang in a way that did not need words.

I'll miss the dulcet voice of Pavarotti.

(PS: If you look close at the video you can also see Princess Diana and her chum in the front row at the end..)
