Beets, please give my best wishes to your father. Hope he will be well soon!

Thanks Champ, I will.

He cracked his collar-bone, damaged an elbow, and banged his head pretty badly, but nothing is outright broken. So far, so good.

Hello Beets. Good to see you ;-) Everythings so slow here without you.. The best wishes to your father.

Sorry for my absence. My 97 year-old father had a bad fall. He's been in the hospital and I've been spending a lot of time there. With any luck, they'll be sending him home later today or tomorrow.

Beets, give your dad my best wishes as well...

Hi everyone!

To Ed, Dan, Richard, Champ, Ice and Moon: thanks very much for your support and for asking about my father. You guys are Great!!!

Well, we finally got my father home yesterday afternoon, and not a moment too soon. His release was pushed back because he developed some sort of lung infection the day before he was going to be discharged. Those darn hospitals are just a hotbed of viruses and bacteria, no matter what they say about sanitation. Anyway, he was brought home yesterday, and very happy he is to be back home too! :]]

I would've posted this morning, except I was asleep. I was up all night watching over my father, as they asked me to do for the first couple of days to monitor his infection. So after serving him breakfast this morning I fell dead asleep. EEK!

We had a bad storm hereabouts last night, with 100+ kpm winds. To our very good luck, we didn't lose our electricity, the phone lines to our house are still up and amazing to say, our 350 year-old elm trees are all still standing. There's not a leaf left on any of them though, this storm was a real leaf-stripper.

I'll be staying up all night with him again tonight, but if he's doing well I'll break away for a few posts. I'm anxious to catch up with you guys and see what's been going on with you.

Thanks again for all the nice things you said here guys! You're the Best!!! :]]]

Beethoven, what you are doing to take care of your father, considering his age and illness, is most commendable. However, you also need to take care of yourself to help your father. Use whatever other resources you have with family and friends during this time. You will be no good to your father if you should become ill yourself. The situation that you are under can create a considerable amount of stress.

Take care and God bless.

Sister Edith! How nice to hear from you again!

There are no physical resources in my current situation, but your support and blessing give me strength. Thanks ever so much!

I know it's too late for breakfast, so let's call this an afternoon snack and a return to normalcy. It's Canadian Special today: French Toast with authentic Maple Syrup and Bacon, and Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice.

Enjoy!

Hi beets. I haven't been around much lately Just wanted to say I hope your dad is ok. I work with seniors and I know that falls can be devastating to them.
BTW the breakfasts were great.
Hi Arizona Moon. We haven't had a chance to talk, but hopefully you don't get too lonely here. Also a belated happy birthday to you. I was incommunicado for over 4 weeks no internet after moving.
