G'Day to Each & Everyone of Ya . . .

Hello Richard! How'ya diddlin?

Quite Well David - (and) Yerself ?
ps - i think (we) could git Modded for that one word - Ya think ;_)

Hopefully we could cross the Atlantic/Pacific divide without any great difficulty ...
(I am always tickled about the word "pissed". In America it means "angry" ... and in Pommieland it means "Drunk as a skunk".)
Now ... is that modded by a Pom for being offensive? ... or passed by a Tank for being normal everyday language?

And now you see the dilemma that we face.

Good thing I am a bit more liberal than some....lol

The word in question can also refer to urination in the past tense.

Yes it could. So which version of the definition am I to go with?

The moderators may remove it if they see it as one definition when another was actually meant.

It's really impossible to know the definitions and possible repercussions of the use of all words in all cultures...You just gotta give it your best shot and hope it doesn't mean something nasty in Klingon...and then the Klingon's come and complain with a very sharp weapon.

Correct. But if we happen to give it our best shot and pick the wrong definition, the palace gets in an uproar.

People need to realize that we are in a tough position. Trying to keep things presentable for everyone isn't an easy thing to do. :-)

Does the saying, "Sticks and stone may break my bones, but words can never hurt me," have any meaning here? The words stone and bone could be problematic if taken out of context especially in the past tense. IMO, this conversation is obsurd to say the least.

JC ... I am sorry to learn of your pet's demise - and after such a long life. She must have been an integral part of the family. Big hug, matey.

Hello David ... many thanks for these best wishes. The little cat is now with the vet, and her ashes should be back in about 2 weeks.

Sheila and I also give many thanks for all our friends here passing on their support and good wishes. Minty was a smashing little cat, and it is only when they go you become aware of what they did (mischief) and how deep under the skin they get.

Been out with clients and on the road all day, from early, but did not feel like saying good morning at the early parts of the day.

My apologies for remaining silent, but I think you understand.

Now in snap out of it mode ...

Good evening to all posting in the thread ...

... from ...

... David and Esme, this morning ...

... to ...

... Mike, monday, Dan, Doc, Jeremy, knightmare, iX (Sarge II and DB ...

How are you all diddling (as Bodders asked much earlier?

It's been a lovely day here, and the traffic was light for the couple of hundred miles I drove. Indeed it has been warm and shirt sleeve weather!

It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues
