**** By order of the Vulcan High Council ****

Siran t' T'Khasi, you are hereby ordered to maintain a peaceful environment on the SETI forum Café SETI. You are hereby authorized to use whatever force you deem necessary. As you know, lethal force goes against our doctrine. Therefore, you are not authorized to use lethal force. The most extreme physical force you may use is the Vulcan neck pinch. Use it judiciously. You may also use the Vulcan Mind Meld. But, beware. The Vulcan Mind Meld has been know to be lethal to the Human mind. Use extreme caution when applying the meld.

You will be issued a "Special Agent" ID card. This card is impervious to most anything. It is virtually indistructable. It has an embedded microcomputer that can be accessed with any computer system that the Humans build. It's operating system will take complete control of the computer you connect it to, even if a lowly Human operating system is currently running. When finished with the connection, the card will return the computer to its original state.

The microcomputer is intelligent and self-aware. It knows the owner of the card by the owners DNA. If the card should be stolen or otherwise leave your person, a security program will take control of it and not allow any of it's contents to be accessed. The program is infalible. There is not a Human, alive or dead, that can hack the card.

You will be required to use the card to make your scheduled reports. Hence, the connection to a Human computer system. Your reports and personal observation notes will be uploaded to the card and the microcomputers subspace radio will send the information to Vulcan. We can also send you information via subspace to the card. When connected to a computer system, the card will show you any information and further orders we send to it. The card will also allow you access to any location on Café SETI.

Please note: If you do not make a scheduled report to us, we will access the card and determine it's location on the planet. We will have a scout ship, in high orbit over the planet, to search for you if the need arises. If you should miss a scheduled report, through no fault of your own, at the first opportunity, connect to a computer system and the card will report to Vulcan and to the scout ship. The scout ship will cease its search. Remember, only you have control of the card, so unless you connect it to a computer system, it will not work, except to report to us and the scout ship, its location.

Peace and Long Life, agent Siran

Welcome back Siran! Good to see ya!

Thanks Jeremy. Feels good to be back posting again. And just to assuage any ideas that I was banned, I was not. I put myself on a self-ban just to see what it was like not posting for a couple weeks, and to see if I could resist temptation to reply to any posts I happened to read. That was the longest lurk I have ever been on. Thanks again Jeremy.... (-:<

I'm having some intermitten problems with my website. There's a cool image I got from CA a very long time ago that I edited for the purpose of this thread. Please have patience. The image will show eventually.... (-:<

We did have a Comic-Con earlier this summer. But as always I stayed away.

Hmmmm.... Been fighting with an XP PC that runs hot whether the weather is hot or not. Been trying to come up with some ingenious ideas on how to cool it down. Even without BOINC running, it runs hot. Go figure.

Umm, got a weird bug a couple weeks ago. Went in to work on Monday, felt kind of blah. Tuesday I woke up feeling like I was going to die. I called in sick. Got up Wednesday, feeling a bit better and went in to work. They sent me home. Finished out the week ok. The next week, on Thursday I believe it was, I was feeling like crap again, they sent me home. Been feeling ok ever since. Don't know what it was.

The week before that started, I had my left knee acting up and hurting bad. Went in to work the next day and was coming down some stairs. I stepped off the last step with my left leg and my knee buckled and I hit both knees on the carpet covered concrete floor. They sent me home to ice the knee. My knees feel better but they still hurt, probably from being a 156 year old Vulcan.... (-;<

Since I had no drivers for the built-in sound on my motherboard, on my newest FreeBSD machine, I installed a cheapo sound card and now have sound. I have a brand new Serial ATA hard drive identical to the one in the FreeBSD box that I want to add. Haven't gotten to it yet.

Hmmmm.... Well, that's about it for now.... (-:<

Thanks LGMFM! Yeah, been working on becoming a credit whore.... Nah, not really, just wanted to up my crunching. I have a third computer here, but I'm keeping it in reserve. It kept me online when my other 2 computers took a dump on me. Besides, it's a lot older than the other 2, the hard drive is about 9 years old. That's prehistoric for a hard drive. I used to do Classic SETI with that drive and the 'puter. Thanks again.... (-:<

Man, I'm seeing some really strange anomolies. The table section, below the signature line, with the message ID and "Reply...." link, varies in height. Some are the normal single line height whiles others are about 5 or 6 lines. Also, your sig image is microscopic. Its about a 1/4 inch high and about a 1/2 inch wide. The text is microscopically small.

As for the Pon-Farts, I only do that when I eat beans.... (-:<
