I've never posted here but I'm sulking now because nobody but Es and I stood up to a guy - BrainSmasheR - who said it was too bad he wasn't the head of the KKK - or maybe that he wishes that he just got a free coffee mug from the racist hood-wearing freak (message 301552). I'm also sulking because it seems to be okay - judging by lack of community response - that a proud racist is allowed to run free here in this community, gladly spouting his predudice against African-Americans. Free speech is one thing, but I am appalled. Here's the language he defends as not being racist

Jim, that was old news. It was brought up last year when we fought a$$masher off the boards. There are just some morons that just don't learn. We've taken a different tactic this year, such as my post in the shunned thread about him. I have no idea if he responded or not, he's a racist/liar/moron and will say anything to make himself look good, which, this time around, is even more futile than last year. I will not talk at/with/to him. I will talk through/around/behind/over him. What he does and the things he says is NOT ok for these fora or his blog. I am in full agreement with you on that moron.... When I saw BrainSmasher's first series of posts he cam across as a 14 year old and went straight on my PLONK list, in the filter. His choice of a handle illustrates this enormous immaturity!

Alas, this is par for the course in the UN. The entire purpose of the organization appears to be bitching about the US and/or Israel.

I know it's not politically feasible, but the best course of action seems to be for the US to completely withdraw from the UN, evict the bureacrats from New York City, and bring all US troops home from UN peacekeeping missions. There are other multinational organizations that can handle each of the UN's functions.

Let the UN sulk at all of the lost revenue and resources.

Amen, Octagon. At worst the UN is impotent. At best it's an enabler of some of the most heinous criminal regimes in history responsible for systematic genocides, rapes, murders, executions without trial, and slavery. The more subtle and scary observation of them makes the astute observer realize that the UN gives a veneer of credibility to these thug regimes by their inclusion in its membership. Putting relatively free nations in seats next to the murderous ones makes them seem equally respectable and legitimate in the eyes of many.

To start with, a question requires a "?" (FYI - that's called a question mark).

As for why it's stuck at 51 ? <SHRUG>. You'll have to ask the BOINCrs about that. Just another sloppy way of doing business.
