Could be some will dismiss this as not a real milestone, but this week I (briefly) got to position 250th worldwide. Just about managing to hang in at the top 25 for the UK which was a personal goal. Damn, some guys & girls have a lot of machines out there. Hurrah! http://www.boincstats.com/stats/user_graph.php?pr=sah&id=1452761 Usual congrats to everyone else on their milestones - keep going! Today, June 22, 2006, is my 7th Anniversary of crunching for SETI. After 7 years of running my personal computers into the dirt, running SETI on SGI workstations, PC's, etc. at work and anything else with a CPU, running up my electrical bills... - all in the name of locating ET, I am resigning. Why? Just seems like the time. My newest CPUs are running too hot, BOINC/SETI slows other apps to a crawl (of course, it's Always Running, how else do you run it :/) and in general, my addiction to SETI is becoming obsessive. As much as I enjoy the science and reading the sometimes insane lunacy in these threads, I have set SETI to get no more additional WU's and once the queue is empty, I'm done. Good Luck to every one of you and best wishes. [SETIUSA].LarryG |

Today, June 22, 2006, is my 7th Anniversary of crunching for SETI. Take care, Larry. Good luck with your next obsession. Seriously. Seven years of dedicated voluntary service, at your own expense, is a long time. Well done. |

Today, June 22, 2006, is my 7th Anniversary of crunching for SETI. Thank you for all of your devotion. I have been a silent partner here doing the same as you since 2000. I understand completely. I will trudge on through the marshes. I only hope that you have found the transmission and it's just not processed yet. I will continue to follow in your footsteps |
