I have been running the "old" version of SETI. It showed the frequencies as it processed the data. I had to reformat my pc then download SETI again. What is this new BIONIC stuff? Where does it show all the work I have already done? Is the old version gone for good?

You can read all about BOINC here.

Where does it show all the work I have already done?

Under your profile. It's only current as of March 15th, and it will be updated to reflect your final totals when classic is offically shut down (1-3 months).

Is the old version gone for good?

SETI classic is still online and will be for 1-3 months longer, but they're not allowing any more downloads. After 1-3 months, they'll move the servers supporting SETI classic to SETI BOINC and SETI classic will be but a memory.

So, do I still get credit for all of the work units I have completed?

Yes and no. Your BOINC total starts at zero, but your classic totals will always be a part of your profile. See this thread for the reasoning behind it.

Thats a bunch of bull S#@%!!!!
So allof the people who have had their computers running 24/7 and have racked up countless hours of data time, get reset back to zero just because of the new BIONIC????

I am not liking this. I am seriously considering leaving all of this behind. Its a shmae, I loved helping out, and I loved the old SETI

You're not reset to zero, your classic results will always be a part of your profile:

SETI@home classic workunits
as of 15 March 2005 687
SETI@home classic CPU time
as of 15 March 2005 12,589 hours

There are various reasons classic credit can't be transferred. First off, BOINC measures credit in an entirely different way, measuring cobblestones instead of counting completed WUs. Cobblestones are much more accurate and fairer since WUs can vary in size and complexity (more so across projects, so it gives it a good way to compare your contribution to various projects). Also, BOINC only grants credit for valid science, meaning if the WU you completed was bad, you don't get credit for it (discouraging people from overclocking, which speeds up processing but can introduce errors that completely invalidates the science), whereas in classic it would be treated just like every other perfectly valid WU.

Second, BOINC incorporates many more checks to prevent people from cheating (which was a major problem with classic). If classic credit transferred to BOINC, it would encourage would-be cheaters to use classic to up their BOINC stats, which would ultimately hurt the science.

Given this, it would be impossible to come up with a fair conversion from classic WUs to BOINC credits, so the folks at Berkeley did the fairest thing they could: keep the classic stats in your account but have everyone start at zero in BOINC.

Read this thread about Why classic is being replaced.
Is Boinc - Seti really worth the effort?

I was approaching the 10,000 WU mark with classic, but after seeing how much improved BOINC is over classic SETI I went with BOINC.

Please feel free to read the informations behind the links Jason posted to you.

As he said:
Your Seti classic Stats will not be lost, it is shown under your profile. At the moment this is from March 2005, but it will be updated up to the last WU once Seti classic is shut down (so we are told).
You can even include your Seti Classic Stats in the certificate.

But it won't be converted into BOINC-credits. These begin at 0.

BTW: It's called "B O I N C" and has nothing to do with Bionic.
