Picky picky picky. Here a guy goes and try to make a point and someone has to come in and screw up the argument with the facts! I know what I am talking about, just don't confuse me with the facts. :) Jim PS: It is good to see changes occuring. I love to see progress occuring. Keep up the good work, Rom, Janus, and the rest of your crew. > Actually, the forum moderation code was being written by Janus. > > He is the forum feature guy. > > :) > > |

At the bottom of the homepage you can see who volunteered the efforts for the redesign. Website graphics by Effect-Web-Media.com The first prototype I saw of it was a month or so ago. It took awhile to convert it into PHP. ----- Rom BOINC Development Team, U.C. Berkeley My Blog |

Only a 'little' rant: The background color isn't set to white. Not on every system, e.g. mine, the default background color is white ;) Often made mistake ;) Aloha, Uli |

Now I must learn not to speak too soon as I feel like I can predict the future.. Its lookin even greater than it did this morning (mine) here on Opera. One thing though (I guess it'll be different for everyone) is the links on the home page are orange (for me) so are not so easy to see... The (home page) banner is great but doesn't wrap or fit wholly on my 800x600 screen. Other than that its just superb for me. As to using up time that could be better spent elsewhere I reckon a little time spent now will mean people will be more free later to do other jobs. (Stitch in time and all that...) The look of the forum will lift the profile and hopefully some of the other background changes (such as moderation and problem control) will mean less future long term destructive activities.... as we have seen of late :( Anyway. Thankyou. Rom, Janus and team. cRunchy |

Not Opera as far as I can tell. I emulated all browsers in Opera and tried also in iExplorer. Its the screen size that is the problem. Most web designers do not write for the different screen sizes assuming people will always have 15 inch plus screens and use higher that 800 x 600. Maybe due to the way a repeating image is used as the background to the banner right of the page?? Anyway its just a footnote as it doesn't really inhibit the use of the site. Just makes it look slightly odd. cRunchy |

Why are you using 800×600? Crank that baby up! What's the max on it, 1280×1024? If you've got it, flaunt it! [ADDENDUM] Unless it's hard to read, in which case... |

Only 2 minor nitpicks from me... The dark blue background of the menubar on the secondary pages seems a little heavy in contrast to the 'lighter' look and feel of the site as a whole (I know, I know... they used the color of the home page banner)... It's redundant to include the footer menubar on short pages such as 'login', 'message boards', etc... Other than that, I think it looks great! |

It's a 15 inch monitor... I've had it at larger screen depths but I broke my binoculors :) I quite like the personal nature of 800 x 600 but there is no reason html can't cope with that... When I've got my 100 inch sticky tape fresnel lens TV screen projector working there won't be any problem at any setting... Just got to find my glasses to read the instructions :o)))) cRunchy |
