Well, whatever you do is really up to you. I have my own theory as to what may have gone wrong. Recently a major windows 10 update went out and caused grief for many boinc users as it updates the video drivers(without warning) and breaks opencl. So the fix is to reinstall the driver, and you just got through doing that. These automatic driver updates are really the only reason I'm not currently running windows 10. But I'm not impressed with the speed of igpu. There are many ways to do this. You could only run four cpu cores, or you could run four cpu cores plus igpu, or you could free a core and run three cpu cores plus igpu, or you could just run igpu only. But the igpu isn't anywhere near as fast as a decent video card. Basically, you're getting what you paid for. |

Well, whatever you do is really up to you. I'm NOT impressed with Intel GPUs, either. It's what came with the system; so, I decided to try to use it. There's NO WAY my parents will put in an aftermarket GPU. They have NO use for it... TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

NOW I'M CONCERNED!!! Since Upgrading the Driver; TWO Units have been marked Inconclusive: 1994507924 and 1994507918 Do I need to worry??? Should I roll back the Driver??? TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

Too impatient to wait... I Suspended BOINC, Exited BOINC, reverted the Driver back to 10.18.15.4271 Rev.A 174.5 MB Dec 6, 2015; then relaunched BOINC. TL [EDIT:] Found that it finished a third Unit on the "Newer" Driver... This may end up Inconclusive as well... 1995555883 TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

12/7/2015 6:58:43 PM | SETI@home | task postponed 30.000000 sec: At least one thing about newer clients (newer than 7.6.15), they will now always give a reason why tasks are postponing. So, if all is well, there won't be any further 'task postponed {time-out} sec:' and then silence. (Crosses fingers). |

I'm officially giving up on the Intel 530. I have set it to NNT, and am waiting for it to finish its queue. I checked several of the completed units against the wingmen matched up with it. It seems that even with Lunatics, this thing crunches slower than CPUs crunching Stock Apps... :-( The Intel GPUs just AREN'T up to being crunchers like the NVIDIAs and ATIs... Ahoi I ran into the same issue with an Astropulse v7.09 opencl_intel_gpu_102 unit running on an i7 6700K HD530 GPU. Driver Version is 10.18.15.4279 OS is Win10x64 https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=4710046702 (not finished yet, i put it on suspend) I followed the recommendations in this thread and lowered the -unroll to 8, 4 and even 2. -unroll 2 -ffa_block 2048 -ffa_block_fetch 1024 But after a few seconds the task is postponed again due to a 'ReadBuffer(gpu_power->power_range_ptr)' call failed (-5) following lines are from the stderr.txt : Waiting 30 sec before restart... Ahoi Good luck to you, ElGono. I gave up on Farragut and Suspended all BOINC activity there. I only have two REAL systems that crunch, now. (Prometheus with a GTX-750 TI SC, and Exeter with a GTX-760. Both cards are EVGA.) TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

I gave up on Farragut and ... ... Prometheus with a GTX-750 TI SC... You always use computer names like "Farragut", "Prometheus" (and maybe others - I don't remember) We can't see them, we see only ID: 7301566 and ID: 7440554 Even if you tell me now which is which I will not remember them for the next your post. Maybe use this way: Farragut Prometheus ... which is this "code" (you can Copy/Paste to Notepad and reuse): Farragut Prometheus Or use Popchrom and make abbreviations (e.g. farr) which will expand to the full url= line http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=73694 Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

I gave up on Farragut and ... ... Prometheus with a GTX-750 TI SC... Your the only one complaining... I ALWAYS give the GPU description of the computer that I speak of that is in question.... So, if you can't follow, this your problem, NOT MINE!!! :p TL Exeter --> GTX-760 Prometheus --> GTX-750 TI SC Farragut --> Intel HD530 :p TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Not true, I suggested you make is easier for us to see which computer you are talking about some time ago and you seemed to make the effort for a few posts. EVERY POST I make talking about my computers I ALWAYS put a GPU description or a CPU description depending on the issue at hand. SO YOU ARE MISTAKEN!!! :p TL [EDIT] If you two CAN'T read "Exeter, (GTX-760),..." in a given Post, that's YOUR problem, NOT mine. I type PLAIN CLEAR ENGLISH!!! Read my previous posts in other Threads, you KNOW it is true!!! :p TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

I have TWO active crunchers; both using GPUs... So, since I DON'T have a farm like many others here, I call my computers by name, and will continue to do so; ALSO including their GPU description. Since my computers ARE NOT hidden, it should be SIMPLE to find which system is being discussed. Farragut, (HD530), was an experiment, and it FAILED!!! Had it succeeded, it would have made a third cruncher for me. TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

When I copy your string, should I include the last dot operator? In other words, which one is correct? -unroll 8 -ffa_block 2048 -ffa_block_fetch 1024. or -unroll 8 -ffa_block 2048 -ffa_block_fetch 1024 |

When I copy your string, should I include the last dot operator? Leave out the dot/period. Put a "space" at the beginning of the command. " -unroll 8 -ffa_block 2048 -ffa_block_fetch 1024" <--- Leave out the quotes. TL NOTE: This had NO effect in correcting the problem, for me. TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Well this is not new! I reported this issue here for the devs but couldnt get any apropriate real guidance so i gave up. http://lunatics.kwsn.info/index.php/topic,1763.msg59314.html#msg59314 This is to the developer board and i have the exact same issue as you TimeLord04. (Non approved members cannot reach this post though) In my case i had a Intel 5775C with Iris Pro 6200 iGPU and i had issues with running Astropulse work but not MB7 work. Tried without any parameters at all and reduced values! Nothing worked so i gave up. Now i've exchanged the 5775c to a 6700K instead so i dont need to tweak the rig as its processor is more mobile in its design that it is a desktop. (And wont be using its GPU until i hear that it seems to work again :) ) Very good IPC though due to the 128MB eDRAM on the chip. Good luck all! _________________________________________________________________________ Addicted to SETI crunching! Founder of GPU Users Group |
