Me too; however, I can, (and do), take cephalosporins... (Keflex, and others.) I'm also allergic to Sulfa drugs; so, no Septra for me... TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

I guess I'm lucky I'm not allergic to any meds. I did react after a blood transfusion last year, though. (Or have I mentioned that before?) David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Yeah I know, I'm a potential 'Universal Donor', that lives out in the boonies. My Brother though had 'O Positive' blood for some reason. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

My blood type is 'O Negative'... I'm B negative, trust me to be awkward, that's only 2% of the population. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

My doctor won't tell me my blood group, because he says that if in an emergency I get confused and get it wrong, a hospital could inadvertently give me the wrong transfusion, with life threatening consequences. He said that is standard practice, unless you are a rare group in which case you usually carry a card. There is nothing to stop me having a private blood test if I wanted. There are no rare types in my family, and I have had 5 ops on my hands now, so I guess in the absence of any comment, I am probably boring group O. Blood group always gets retested. Too dangerous to make a mistake and easy and fast to run. Ambulance doesn't give you blood only serum expanders. But hospital didn't tellme my blood group either, even though they musthav had it there what they cut me open... You don't give compatible blood group any more these days unless it's a real emergency. There's more complations there. the closer you can mathc the better... edit: some topic. Now I need a drink.
