Message 1072983 - Posted: 1 Feb 2011, 5:24:56 UTC - in response to Message 1072980.

Winning while parking in Uli's space.

Campus Police Parking Ticket, failure to move on.

Ticket lost, too bad.

Bench Warrant. Really too bad.

Statute of limitations passed, Case Dismissed.

After a very stern lecture about showing up and how not doing so is contempt of court.

I do know of one place where a handicapped person was injured because he could not park in a handicapped space as a non-handicapped person was parked there. The result of this was that the fine went from $5 to $500 with a boot.

As long as Yer not a certain asinine Lawyer turned Judge that was at one time married to My sister, Hopefully He lost His house.

That would never happen to Me or My relatives.

Which brings to mind an email from a shipmate of mine in Texas.....

A disabled veteran was a frequent patron of a local cafe. He normally parked in one of three "handicapped" spaces near the front door. His pickup truck was clearly marked with both special license plates and a placard visible on the dashboard.

One day he arrived to find another pickup, with no special plates or placard displayed, occupying the space he normally used, and no others available. He parked, hobbled into the cafe, located the pickup's owner, and requested he move his vehicle. The driver laughed at him. So the Veteran returned to his truck, parked it across the rear of the offender's truck so it could not be moved, then called the police.

When the police officer arrived, and heard the Veteran's story, he laughed, issued the Veteran a $10 parking ticket, then issued the offending pickup a $500 citation for illegal parking in a Handicapped space. The owner came out of the cafe, verbally abused the Veteran and the cop, and was arrested for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a police officer.

Moral: at least in Texas, don't mess with a disabled Veteran, or park in his Handicapped space.

Guess Who's an honorary Texas Ranger now? Yep Chuck Norris aka: Carlos Ray

This family never had any problems with the law, Our parents made sure We're good honest folk. One thing I would have done is taken some pics of the offending pickup, Not blocked It in, That's where the $10 fine came from. Never disobey an officer.

bzzzzzzzzzzzz

Wrong. Stops cold once the cite is issued. It only runs if they don't file in court, not if you are on the run. That's why they file rape cases using a DNA profile number so if they ever find the criminal, no Statute of limitations.

Quick release wheels developed and the Denver Boot is a thing of the past.

Not removing the Boot, but removing the truck from around it.

Winning.
