AFAIK. 'HTTP internal server error' means a prob with the S@h scheduler.

I do not do anything..
..I wait to the time, someone of the S@h crew 'switched off/on the switch'..

Is anyone else having problem reporting?

Only when the network traffic is maxed out, which is only for a few hours at a time at the moment. There's something blocking up the works. Every now & then things spring back to life but it doesn't last too long.

In the past, those cricket spikes are when the scheduler hands out lots of APs.

I've noticed that during the periods when the Cricket Graphs fall off the peaks but people still complain about not being able to reach the Scheduler, the Forums have been very slooooooow.

Since the replica database is offline, all database queries, including the Forums, are processed by the Master Database. Could those slowdowns be blocking the Scheduler?

My E7600 could report at 05:52 UTC 76 results.

My 940 BE can still not report (now) 544 results.

I had contact with one of the S@h crew - if there is a prob they will solve it.

Do not think it was out of time just that they have disappeared from the ether, this is the message I got
30-Sep-2010 21:52:20 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks.
30-Sep-2010 21:52:20 [SETI@home] Reporting 22 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks
hopefully something will be sorted out, thank you for the message

Has anyone any idea when these 22 which we reported when will they appear in my account or have I lost them for good. In that case sorry to my wingmen they were done but they have disappeared into the black hole

But when you do report those 3554 results, the rest of us will be left even further back in the dust cloud created by your cruncher :-)

Heck,my rig is not even in the top 20. :)

Hmm..............

Last contacted SETI on 10 Sep 2010 22:17:04 UTC.

I would perform a project reset. More important to get the machine back online with SETI since the completed work is probably lost anyway.

Be advised that you will probably lose the optimized apps installation also so be prepared to reinstall the optimized apps again.

This is what I would do but it's your machine...............

That machine is a ghost machine created when a machine accidentally booted from the wrong disk which had an earlier copy of a SETI install on it. I can't merge the two machines. ID: 4650366 and ID: 5488329.

The machine which wouldnt report finally has with 211 tasks (ID: 5516356 ).

The front page this morning has the same message as last week, that the storage is maxed out. Perhaps, as a consequence, this is why my computer requests but doesn't receive any additional work. So, when they 'fixed' the system last week did they work on the right thing, or something just to get us going again? I think the 'right thing' is to fix the ghosting problem because ghosts rapidly use up the available storage. But I don't know. It just seems sad that boinc is (still) so rough.

I'm starting to wonder if the processing the results should be whole separate BOINC project. Then all Seti@Home would need is a ZX81. ;p

Reporting one task works just fine for me.. on both machines.

2P opteron:
2010-10-03 06:32:14|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 1926849 seconds of work, reporting 1 completed tasks
2010-10-03 06:32:19|SETI@home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks

Sempron:
2010-10-03 10:36:35|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 1 completed tasks
2010-10-03 10:36:47|SETI@home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks

All times are UTC-4. The scheduler responses have about the same response time as loading forum/website pages, as well.

That message is from Sept. 25th, and I don't believe it applies to the current situation.
It had been indicated that although the bruno to bambi conversion was done (and I see the server status page has not yet been updated to reflect that), there were still some other issues related to moving processes around that still had to be addressed. Maybe this is related to that, I just don't know.
It might also be related to the fact that the replica database still shows as being offline and everything is working off of the master, so it may be a little overworked.
I suspect that they will let things limp along until tomorrow, and would not be surprised to see some downtime again when they work on it. And I am not sure if they plan a full 3 day outage this coming week, or if they will forgo it due to the problems we are currently experiencing. The limits are still in place, so although most have enough work to keep going right now, there certainly has not been any cache filling to allow crunching through an extended outage yet.

These are my hunches, and I have been proven wrong before.

Meow meow.

Have bought new 4-port router so all machines can keep themselves topped up ready for the outages. + I don't have to manually unplug a USB modem around the place. Even the 2003 optiplex GX60 now has a working NIC (after the official Dell driver dind't work...thought NIC had failed).

I was using the SETI website to test if they could get online - MSN worked, units could report, but strangely couldn't get on the SETI site.

Another site worked. It was because the SETI site was down just at tht moment ;)!

For those cruncher with really hungry machines (power crunchers) I really hope that the project will not have the normal 3 day outage next week. I doubt that the power crunchers has been able to, or will be able to fill their caches enough to last over that outage if it happens.

My weak crunchers though, has been able to get enough work to be able to crunch at least for another 5-6 days.

I don't have more than a day or so on any of my rigs with the limits set so low.
Unless they lift the limits and can keep work flowing, the kitties are gonna get a little cold when the crunchers run dry.

Well, let's see now if something else than the forum comes back online. I have my doubts, but if reporting and downloading comes back online, judging from the recent lack of server reliability, another outage will be on the horizon pretty quick I believe...

Negative? Me? Nah, only realistic.....

All I know is that if things go down again, I will continue to wait patiently. I'm definitly in this for the long haul.
