Personal background |
My name is Chris, people call me madmac because they think I am weird. I am not into 'soaps' or football, they also think I am weird because I have a degree in mathematics. This I did in seven years with the Open University in England. It is a university where you pay to do a credit go to a different place ie different university to receive a lecture by the tutor who does the subject ie stats in your area. You then have coursework to do and send it by a date where you are marked. At the end of the year you have an exam you have to pass both parts to gain a credit. Some course are a half credit or 30 points or a full credit which is 60 points. You need 360 points or 6 credits to get a degree.
I am living in a smaller town just outside Leicester which is in the East MIdlands a part of the United Kingdom. My hobbies are reading science fiction and I am also into mythology. I have been into sci-fi since I saw 2001 when it first came out, this with Star Trek following reach my interest. I have been into computers since the 80's when the BBC Model B came out in the UK and so had computers in the house since then. I have a younger brother with a degree in software engineering, he used to write software and my job was to see if I could crash it 9 times out of 10 I did. At this precise moment I do not have a job due to injury but want to go into teaching if I can.
I am sorry there is no pic, but I do not like having my picture taken when I get one I will upload it on this page if I can. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Why do I run Seti? Well I do not think that we are alone in this big universe.
The project is good but I wish the credits were more favourable to us who have slower engines. Maybe when I get enough money I will be able to get a newer machine a faster one |
