Did they ever fix BOINC v6.x not working on Windows Domain Controllers? If you want to run BOINC as an application instead of a service it runs fine, but the installer blocks the install. I just copy the program folder from an installed machine to the DC. Then run boincmgr.exe SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Don't hold your breath, there won't be any messages tab in the 6.11 (test-)range going to 6.12. The Event Log can now be minimized though. |

The change log for 6.11.6... - lib: prevent crash on startup if slot directories have been deleted. BOINC blog |

6.11.7 change log - MGR: In the future I need to be more careful when I flatten a class hierarchy. I broke the ability to get the latest project configuration from account managers. Fix that. BOINC blog |

Just downloaded 6.11.6. My 2 cents worth: - I like it & can't see any problems as yet. |

Notices is nice. Already got one about the Boinc Retreat. This could be a very useful feature for the project. |

When is 6.11 version going to be the norm? Never, because the odd numbers are for development versions only. You'll have to wait for 6.12. Gruß, Gundolf |

When is 6.11 version going to be the norm? V6.11.xx won't be released, but the v6.12.xx-branch will likely be created next week, and depending on how the testing goes it's possible v6.12.xx will be released around start of October 2010... I joined the tester ranks last week just before the unscheduled shut-down. I noticed that the messages tab is now a pop-up from the advanced menu and that nothing is going to change in the near future for that. The two issues that I have is the NOTICE tab which if I read the change log correctly will be empty 99.44/100% of the time, which I guess is what it is. The other is really a question... What is the purpose of switching the columns around in the PROJECTS, TASKS, and TRANSFERS tabs? Very confusing until you get used to it, it just doesn't look right. |

Cause the Boinc Devs probably don't have anything better to do, So they go for style points, 6.10.xx works, 6.11.x is broken as far as I'm concerned and I will not use It or anything like It. Well I found a bad problem with both 6.11.6/7 & got asked on the boinc forum to post to the alpha mailing list. did so but got a bounced message back stating that I have to subscribe........... I do & used the correct e-mail addy..... so there's problems there as well..... The big problem I found with both is that I had 5 einstein wu's with a deadline of 13/9/10 19:25:53 & the "high priority" mode did not kick in. Boinc continued to crunch other wu's, so aborted them as too close to deadline & would not be completed. |

On the original post on this subject there was mention of the ALPHA EMAIL LIST to report any errors. This old man's eyes been all over the beta site and cannot locate where to register. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Also does anyone have any idea when the beta database will be back on line? |

Here's a link to the Alpha site http://boinc.berkeley.edu/alpha/ there are also instructions on how to be a Boinc Alpha tester, and you'll need to subscribe to the Boinc Alpha email list and possibly a good idea to the Boinc Dev list, here's a list to where to sign up to these email groups: http://lists.ssl.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo Just bear in mind that this is for all projects and not just Seti, so the email's can soon add up |

Has someone with one or two FERMI's, tried BOINC 6.11.6, which should be OK, I hope ;) Can try it on a WIN XP64, QX9650+GTX470>X480. Still a lot of WU's in DownLoad state....... Took almost a full day to get some MB tasks, Einstein was first, with a few hundred CPU+GPU WU's, which I run 2 at a time on every GPU(+CPU), they have a terrible low GPU load! (If I'd had Hyperthreathing, I'd run 8 at a time. |
