Certainly, you raccoonishness.
How about a mixed platter of fruits, nuts and insects with a side dish of cat food? Anything for dessert?

Well they are welcome to a choice of german 'Plaetzchen' in the run up to Christmas. From the wiki entry to raccoons it looks like I might find myself with some in the garden after moving...

I'd think they'd like oatmeal raisin cookies, But then so do I. :)

Looks like that bunch doesn't like strawberries, good source of anti oxidants I've read, Oh well, wash them off again and they might be good still for shortcake...

Well I have some bad news, I've decided I've had enough, Not of Grace, But of Her clawing at My bed(under It), On My clothes hamper at night when I've gone to bed as She wakes Me up, On My Recliner and On My sofa, So I'm looking at having Her, Declawed since she's only just an indoor kitty, It will cost Me either $125 or $150 for this.

To those who don't like this, I have a scratching post and She used It once and only once, cause after She started jumping up on top of the platform on top of the post, she then stopped using the post, It means I have to put off getting the new A/C Compressor for the Car(123.79+13.82(ship)=$137.61 on ebay), But that's the sacrifice I need to do It seems. :(

I am well familiar with scratching and destroying furniture. I can suggest one thing that worked for me years ago. My previous cat would scratch everything, all the time. For some reason I had brought an old car tire into the house, and the cat started scratching it, and stopped scratching everything else. I had it propped up against something, and the cat liked to climb on it and start scratching. Make sure it can't roll though. It looked strange having a tire in the house, but it worked.

I have a good tall scratching post, Grace now ignores It as She regards It as a place to only perch on while looking outside. It's an idea, But since I have no old tire and the 2 new tires are budgeted for October, that's out. Besides I'll go to the one for $125 as It's what I can afford, I have to buy some swamp cooler parts, pay a personal loan back to a friend as He may be moving, buy a drier/accumulator for the car(A/C filter really, wish I could adapt the one I have as It's for a different Escort than My '99 Escort zx2), buy some stuff Grace needs and of course support US both for August.

Angel I managed to train cause She was Younger than Grace(less than 6 months when I'd picked Angel up), Grace is almost 1 year old by comparison, So I think She's stuck, So until I get Her operated on by the Vet, She'll be confined to the bathroom(when I'm sleeping at night) where Her box is at and She'll have Her bed there too, After that It shouldn't matter.

If it's just an old tire you need, you could go to the junk yard and get a worn one for $5. Worth a try anyway.

Well, for me I have resigned to the fact that furniture is going to be shredded. The corners of couches and chairs take a real beating. We have a very nice 5' cat tree, and a lot of it is shredded as well, so its not like the four cats don't use it. They just suppliment it with everything else. My wife is a huge cat lover, and if I don't want to be neutered, then the cats can do no wrong. :)

Vic, before you declaw, http://www.howtodothings.com/pets-and-animals/a1845-how-to-stop-house-cat-behavior-problems.html try some less radical things. I bet she is still stressed out from the move.

Victor
Try using a spraybottle filled with water. You have over two weeks. Spray it in her face, when she is doing a nono. My cats only scratch my trees and rose bushes, so maybe a piece of a tree might make a good diversion for her, especially is you lock her up with it at night.
Let me know if you are willing to try it and if it works. I may get unlucky someday and get a scratcher too.

Before you declaw.. you might try sprinkling catnip on the scratching post..
and perhaps cayenne pepper on other things not to claw.

for the cayenne.. a little goes a long ways.. sprinkle not pour.. a couple of pieces of cayenne dust up the nose might dissuade the behavior.

Ok lets start off by saying I have no catnip, No spray bottle, She's not that stressed from a shelter to here, There aren't any wrecking yards nearby and My options are very limited as I have very little room financially to maneuver, So furniture is almost impossible to replace as It would take months or longer, So I'm still going to do It, Remember Grace and I live on just $845 a month so far(Republicans in the CA Legislature & the cheapskate Govenator want to make that $830 of course, But then they have no shame or decency), Just to Her front claws as I would have said had the outage not gotten in My way.

There's nothing I like better than a cleanly mopped floor(Swiffer wetjet), I did them all today, Grace wasn't too happy about that though, As the Kitchen floor was still a bit tacky when She wanted to use the box in the back of the house.

I have picked up some Catnip at the 99 cent store last week and haven't opened it yet. I could send that to you. I am sure one of your neighbors has some cayenne pepper you could get and a spare spray bottle you could borrow.
A heck of a lot cheaper than the declawing.
Getting the AC in your car fixed is a health issue. Declawing Grace is cruel unless you have tried other suggestions first and it is the last straw.
Heck you only had her a week.
