To reiterate:

HTTP errors, connect errors and 'Project has no work' when Server Status shows lots of results ready to send are usually an indication of maxed out bandwidth. Your request for work will eventually get through.

Please try to be patient, repeated hitting of the update button might get you there a bit earlier but hugely increases the stress on an already straining system.

Well, I detached and reattached, reloaded the apps and the server says Project has no work available. Rats.

Steve

But you did get 20+ for the GPU's.

Yes, it is a bit difficult getting them to download, and most seem to be VLAR's. I won't reschedule them yet, as 20 units seems to be great at the moment.

It's a conspiracy Steve, they're secretly limiting you to 20 VLARs per host. :(

I've got some VLAR's in My Que(3), I'm thinking of aborting all of them, Currently their suspended as I can't reschedule them and performance with more than one running is almost able to make My system go crash. of course the project still can't or something just send the VLAR's only to the cpu, Yet If I abort them It's an error that counts against Me, I'm getting tired of this, I'm thinking of leaving and just dumping what's in My cache.

Oh and except for the VLAR's in My Que I've crunched all the cuda wu's, I'd crunched them all and reported them, Yet Seti says the gpus have a 2.24 day turn around, Must be the vlars, Seti is way off. Bite My Ass...

Ok I aborted them and as such I'm being punished for something normal, Bite My Ass...

Maybe we found E.T.

That'd make the hardcore crunchers and farmers cry. No more farms and crunching GPU work for them. :P

LOL....
IF and when we find ET....
Life as we know it will change. And the kittyman would then find it acceptable to engage in other Boinc projects.
Until then, here is where I'll be as long as the servers will send some kibble to the kitties to crunch.

I have got 31 ready to download all with http errors so I will just sit it out and hopefully they will download before the outage.

One Question remains: What should we do with Downloads in our Pipeline if the Servers go down for Outage?
Should we abort these Downloads?

Well I got a few Vlars to heat up my room, sure slows my machine down. Makes it so I can 2 finger type faster than the screen can keep up.

I would think not...the database should still have these listed as issued to your host when the outage ends. The aborts would probably show up as errors, which you do not want right now due to the broken quota mechanism in place.

I would just leave them alone, and they should pick up and download when the outage ends and bandwidth is available for the transfer.

You are probably right. :-)

It will be interesting to see after the Outage if i have, say 100 Downloads
pending and the Daily Quota is reduced again to maybe 20 Workunits per Host.

Good point, and another good reason not to abort them. They are already issued to your host, so the downloading will not be stopped by any reductions in quota or 'in progress' limits when things come back online.

It's also interesting to note that the Cricket graphs now show sustained near maximum bandwidth utilization. Without the cyclic pattern we had been seeing before Jeff opened up the tap.

Lots of people still waiting for enough work to fill their cache I guess. We'll very likely run at full load until the outage...
