In a thread like this, this and this is appalling.

This thread was created to give kudos to the dev team, a positive atmosphere for people to interact and pat the devs on the back. And, invariably, someone needs to step through the door and start flaming. How sad.... >:-(

Once again, my kudos to the dev team. I had the patience to sit back and let them do their work without griping about not having any WUs to crunch, not being able to up/download, etc. Everyone here [with one exception] has given kudos in their own way. Thank you devs, and thanks to all here for such a positive atmosphere to post in. >:-) (-:

Congratulations to all the team!
That's right that all the mess at S@H those last days/weeks was some sort of upsetting, but who can blame the guys at Berkeley for that? They're doing their best!
I've even, *ouch!*, given money to the cause :)

To the whole development team. I wish to thank you for all your hard work over the past (insert how many months/years you have been on this project). Your dedication, your overtime, and your willingness to keep it going, under all the adversity.

I know there is a lot more work to do. The team is working on a whole new set of programs, working on shutting down Classic, reassigning the hardware, etc. The next several months could prove more stress on the team then ever.

I hope that they keep their eye on the ball, continue with the awesome dedication they have given to the project, and some day the ultimate goal is found.

Cudos, and good luck in the future enevors of this project.

Good luck to everyone who crunches for the project. May each on of your machine crunch the best it can, and may the rest of your endevors go well.

Sorry, I think you're missing my point. .... My point was about us, I see a kind of eiphoria here. That time a week ago things seemed going well too. But now we know it was a deceptive appearance of first online hours. That's what I'm warning about.

Ok, Sergey, I see what you mean! :-) Yes, this comes in cycles, the bitching and ranting and the gratitude! It's an eternal cycle here! ;-)

My computers normally have to wait 24 hrs before they can begin to upload and download all their work after a long outage. Here about 12 hours after turnon my boxes have completely finished uploads and downloads and are happily crunching along as normal. Well done to all the developers!! They have the sort of job where they can work extremely hard, all day and all night, and at the end there is nothing to point at and say....look what I did today! It's not like building a house...nothing to see and gage the day's work. You guy's have worked long and hard to understand a frustrating problem and have WON. Thanks again for your hard work.

Let's not forget Jeff, Court, and Bob - they don't post to these forums, so they don't get the same accolades as me.

I have said it before, and I am more than willing to say it again.

Thanks to the whole team.

This includes, but is not limited to:
Jeff, Court, and Bob,
(who I had not forgotten, I just did not know their names).
'Anyone Else' I might "Have missed out" (for the same reason) is also included.

Thanks ALL!!

Congratulations to the entire team for a seemless re-opening of the project.

I extend thanks and appreciation for all of the work that you do, not the least of which is absorbing all of the criticism in the forums.

I'm sure that the vast majority of crunchers, those who don't frequent the forums, appreciate that they can participate in such a fantastic scientific project without having to know anything about bandwidth, server status, disk space, or any of the myriad other things that you folks handle on a daily basis.

No animals were harmed in the making of the above post... much.

I am now at the excellect position where the only WU's pending for me are those that have not had 3 (or more) results in.

How cool is that!

It's all fully up to date from the my perspective.

Now with no Validators munching on the file system, hopefully the other processes can also munch away at their backlogs.

:-)))

Yes, exactly. And did you notice, the eiphoria has dropped as fast as it raised. The last post here was almost a day ago, and nobody's singing hosanna any more. A single day hasn't yet passed, but the thread is almost at the very bottom of the page, so I could hardly find it. Passengers that were applausing, picked up their luggage (some still complaining of lost cred... sorry, bags), caught cars, went home, and nobody care of pilots and technicians and their everyday work. Sad thing to watch, do you agree?

Though only now it's the right time to confess that indeed everything was going well, that nothing unexpected had suddenly happened (what I'm afraid of). And only now I can say "WELL DONE!!!"to the team. Now it's time to celebrate the victory. My sincere congratilations! Cheers!!!

...but as if everybody got deaf of their own cries, nobody can hear... Nobody's business...
