LHC@home is now running in production mode and we have a substantial amount of new work in the pipeline. We are reopening our user registration up to a new limit of about 8000 users.

Why do you post information about other projects on all other projects boards? We will see that information when we log into their site[s]. It's just a bit, redundant....

Hear hear,

Especially since I put the same information in the correct thread over at NC: here. Plus my info was slightly more on the dot. ;)

Edit: Hmmm, looks like E&H can't even post to their own threads at times like these... A new thread is better... 4 hours after the fact was added to their old thread.

In this case, I thought it was more than just news at LHC that they were opening new accounts, and I did not want anybody to miss out. I occasionally only post what I consider to be significant news of other BOINC sites and only in the "Cafe" part. I believe that is appropriate news posted in an appropriate place. All BOINC projects interest me and are more relevant than many other posts I have seen in the cafe posts. I will keep such postings to a minimum.

Well, I for one am grateful because it was on these boards that I first learned of LHC's opening up to new members. I've been wanting to get on LHC bad, and, no I am, and very happy about it. Thank you!

IMHO, as long as BOINC itself has no common board, this is the appropriate way to spread the news to the community.

Of course, the teams will spread it as well on their fora, but that's not really public.

I personally would prefer an official BOINC forum from Berkeley, not only for the new poject news, but other common problems/features discussion as well, but so far this has to do it.

E&H: Go on with spreading the good news of new projects!

Yes it's me again Siran, is there a problem with me posting here. Don't I have enough Credit yet or haven't I been with the Projects long to have earned the right to be posting here..??

Did I post something that was so objectionable that it goes against the Forum Rules, I don't think so.

The new server has no problems keeping up with the load of the new users, so we will open up for another 2000. Have a nice weekend.

Hopefully they'll have a permanent status soon so that everyone can join! The project probably won't be as popular as SETI so they hopefully won't have as many overload problems.
