Profile: Ed and Harriet Griffith

Personal background
Harriet and I are both a very happily married couple who are now in our 60s. (Ed married an older women - she was born 01-08-53 and he was born 01-09-53!) Ed was a high school teacher for the California Youth Authority from 1988 until we retired to first to Georgia in 2007 and then to Washington state in 2015. He has also been a search and rescue pilot in the Civil Air Patrol, a lawyer in Warner Robins, Georgia 1977-1981, and a Naval Officer active duty on the USS Midway (CV-41) in Yokosuka, Japan 1981-1985, the Naval Reserves on the USS Bolster (ARS-38) in Long Beach, CA. 1986-1991, and in the Naval Reserves at Naval Control of Shipping 1991-2001. Ed's amateur radio license is KC6WCT and Harriet's is KG6RAI. Harriet has her master's degree in counseling psychology.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I hope we can expand into optical searches or other sites (either Australia, amateur receivers as in the SETI League, or a targeted search as in the SETI Institute.) I fear we have gone as far as we are able in Arecibo. I am glad we are going into BOINC, and I hope we will eventually do astropulse and other projects. It has seemed Astropulse has been ready to start in a few months for several years now.
I do hope that eventually BOINC offers the option of having the classic seti@home graphics. The new ones are complex, hard to read, and ugly. In addition they seem to stop after a few runs so they are overly complex.
