I have no problems with either Firefox, Chromium or Chrome browsers with my bank on Linux. The only thing I can think of is maybe the bank is using a pop-up and the browsers all default to using a pop-up blocker in their settings. Easy to turn off or explicitly allow the bank website to be whitelisted.

Got a cumulative update also on my 1809 Home edition. It rebooted at night, killing also the guestTumbleweed SuSE Linux I had just updated with the "zypper dup" command updating 635 packages. Mal comune mezzo gaudio we say in Italy.

Back from a few days offline and...

Wow! Windows 10 can be run on a beautifully modest Raspberry Pi!

I Ran Windows 10 on Raspberry Pi So You Don't Have To

... The idea of running the world’s most popular desktop OS on a Raspberry Pi is intriguing, particularly because Microsoft doesn’t support running full Windows on this $35 single-board computer. Yes, you can get an official build of Windows 10 IoT for Pi, but that OS is “Windows” in name only; it’s only meant for prototyping, not running real desktop apps.

With Windows 10 coming to Arm devices, ... we know that it’s possible to run full Windows, even win32 apps, on Arm-powered computers. And, with a lot of patience and elbow grease, you can run full Windows 10 on your Raspberry Pi, but unless you’re just curious, the painful setup is not worth your time, because the payoff is an OS you can’t really use...

Installation

It took me the better part of two business days to end up with a Windows 10-powered Raspberry Pi 3B. To be fair, after the first 3 or 4 hours, during which I experienced a slew of Blue Screens of Death (BSODS) at least a dozen times, I was able to boot into Windows 10 and set it up but had no Internet because it didn’t have drivers...

Quite an interesting experiment... Still, there's a long way to go yet. Quite a fun article!

Windows 10 everywhere, really?! Note how 'The New Microsoft' is all about the Windows Cloud...

Microsoft Edge lets Facebook run Flash code behind users' backs
Google security researcher finds secret whitelist that lets Facebook run Flash content despite Edge's normal security policies.

Microsoft's Edge browser contains a secret whitelist that lets Facebook run Adobe Flash code behind users' backs.

The whitelist allows Facebook Flash content to bypass Edge security features such as the click-to-play policy that normally prevents websites from running Flash code without user approval beforehand.

Prior to February 2019, the secret Flash whitelist contained 58 entries, including domains and subdomains for Microsoft's main site, the MSN portal, music streaming service Deezer, Yahoo, and Chinese social network QQ, just to name the biggest names on the list.

I got two cumulative updates on both the 1803 and 1809. No problem on 1803 but the update on 1809 crashed the SuSE Linux Tumbleweed of its guest Virtual Machine, and I had to reinstall the Leap 15.0 which is a standard version of SuSE Linux. Even SuSE is guilty of installing new versions without even asking. It's the second time they install Tumbleweed as an update, while it is a totally new version.

Read into this latest splash in whichever way you wish:

... cyber-crooks are all about Microsoft for now - Oh, and Flash! Arrrrrggghhh

Eight out of the ten most exploited vulnerabilities tracked by threat intelligence biz Recorded Future in 2018 targeted Microsoft products – though number two on its list was, surprise surprise, a Flash flaw...

... The threat intelligence biz used a list of 167 exploit kits to define its master list of commonly abused vulns, as well as 492 remote-access Trojans...

IT is still a "Wild West" in some parts...

Hi Martin,

So, to be numero uno, you have to produce crappy software so that it gets cracked all the time, and that Linux will never be number one? ;) lol

Have a great day! :)

I still run Windows on two of my smallest boxes. Sometimes I have trouble with Linux-based browsers. Since one of those times was with my bank website I am reluctant to abandon Windoze.

Not to mention I can only get that really neat Seti Windows saver in Windows. Linux cpu apps don't seem to do it at all.

So lets hear it for "Windows has more flash" ;)

Snort.

MacOS, (I believe), also allows BOINC to produce the Screensaver for CPU work. (89% sure on this.) <<--- (Hackintosh!!! (Any Intel based system can do this.)) I DON'T use CPUs for Crunching, just GPUs. NO Screensaver on GPUs on ANY platform.

Greetings,

Don't quote me on it, but I believe the update I got 2 days ago screwed something up. :(

I click on File Explorer and it sits with the spinning blue circle. Where the drives and stuff are displayed, it says "Working on it...". For whatever reason, it quits responding to Winders. I click the red "X" and it tells me the program is not responding "Close the program". I found a few fixes on the Internet, but none fixed the problem.

I will respond but uninstalling the updates I got and see if that fixes it...

Have a great day! :)

Siran

[edit]
That was it. I uninstalled KB4489899 and got File Explorer back. Woohoo! :)
