No, still the same answer. I doubt it ever comes to pass unless they hire a new programmer to write the code. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

My experience is that AstroPulse tasks (on the main CPU, not the GPU) often never complete. They will churn and churn using up CPU cycles and time, but not making any progress to completion. I abort them. Why do difficult when there's a very easy way around that? Go to the Project preferences, edit them, uncheck Astropulse v7, uncheck If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?, click Update preferences and they'll never be downloaded onto the systems on that venue again. That may mean that you have to single that computer out into a separate venue, as all the rest of your systems run APs mostly without problems. |

Are you saying "Do not run one on an iGPU" or "I've never had one on an iGPU"? I ask because just now you have about half a dozen AstroPulse queued for your iGPU.... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I was going to try to populate every single stock app on this laptop with at least 100 tasks. After crunching astro on the iGPU for 5-7 days straight there is zero chance of that happening. Computer felt like one of those Windows XP machines that turn you into the Incredible Hulk. (I just got done with the last one when I posted above) Never again. |

I'm waiting to see how my 3 current rigs go tonight in keeping me warm, as a huge blast of cold moist antarctic air is going to hit here (and it's cold enough outside here now at 12C, feels like 3C, in the middle of a sunny but windy day), or I may just have to dust off another old cruncher to add some more heat here to fight off the chill. :-D Cheers. |

Luckily it is dropping to 4C at night so I can leave the garage door open into the computer mess. However during the day it has shot up to 27C. In a week when I will be away for a bit I will have to decide if and how I will leave things running. SETI@home classic workunits 4,019 SETI@home classic CPU time 34,348 hours |
