Has any other person been at this longer than I have? I came on board August 8, some thing or other. I cannot remember. I do know that it will soon be 20 years and many home brewed PCs. I am making ready for the 16 core 30 thread ( think ) that is 2 grand and as soon as I can get the "she who must obeyed" on line I will do it.Welcome amongst us who live in the long now: the 18 Year Club =:) Apr 3, 1999 - May 3, 2020 |

It was quite a different computer environment "back in the last century." Looking forward to the 20 year club, not quite there yet but within the reasonable future. ET, please call soon! |

Although I also get WUs again, my point average is still decreasing. Is this normal after such a time without WU, or is there something wrong? |

Although I also get WUs again, my point average is still decreasing. After an outage, there will always be a drop in RAC (Recent Average Credit). And there have been several longer & unexpected outages over the last month or so. However, to make things even worse, the way Credit New determines how much Credit to award for processing a WU is also resulting in less Credit being awarded at present, than it did in the past. End result, everyone is seeing a big drop in their RAC. As long as there aren't any further unexpected outages or work shortages, RAC should stabilise within the next couple of weeks (hopefully). Check out the Number Crunching forum, and the "A very steep decline in Average Credits!!!" thread for some of the discussions about the falling value in Credit. Grant Darwin NT |

Although I also get WUs again, my point average is still decreasing. . . FWIIW I am seeing signs of the great depression of RACs bottoming out. I think it will (with no further undue outages) stabilise within the week. Stephen :) |

I got 32 threads on a new thread ripper waiting to start.......... Sigh.... Looks like it's down again. . . With these shorter running batches of Blc tasks the demand for WUs has increased and the return rate has skyrocketed. The splitters et al are struggling to maintain the RTS store and if the splitter rate drops below about 50/sec then the RTS drops and getting new work becomes a problem. Stephen :( |

They may not be down, but they are not finishing tasks. I've had Boinc sitting here all day, on hold, to finish 2:19 (that's two minutes and 19 seconds) saying something about my GPU's in use so it can't finish. Eh? What's up with that? It has about five minutes to start up and another five to finish up, or I'm punting. This is ridiculous. |

For future reference- If you've got problems with your system, then Questions & Answers would be the best place to get help, or Number Crunching in the forums. saying something about my GPU's in use so it can't finish. Eh? What's up with that? If your settings tell it not to crunch when your GPU is in use, then it won't. Change the settings, save it, then Press Update in the BOINC Manager, or just let it sit there ti'll you're no longer using your computer, then it will restart. Grant Darwin NT |

Something is telling BOINC not to use your GPU. Might just try a reboot to get it unstuck, else you might need to see if you have defined any exclusive applications in BOINC Manager->Options->Exclusive applications that are preventing BOINC from running. |
