As the stderr of my tasks indicate:

CPU affinity adjustment enabled
Number of app instances per device set to:2
total_GPU_instances_num set to 2

But since I usually don't run 24/7, may RAC will not go up to the approx 27-28K it would if I did.
(much higher if AP's are plenty of course)
It's just now over Xmas that I run 24/7.

Oh, and whatever you do, don't say the words "Linux", or "special sauce" to me.

. . I just had a peek at one of your Stderr files. That info is easy to miss amid all the parameters being set :)

. . I take it you are not a fan of Linux? I can't say I blame you, but it does have it's good points too :)

. . Actually I was comparing your run times with those of my Windows box (i5-6400 with GTX950) and presumed you were running doubles. I found it interesting that the GTX980 run times are just under half those of the GTX950 :) What is the "normal" power drag of the GTX980 in full crunch?

. . I was recently offered the chance to buy a second hand GTX980ti at a really good price. Sadly I was polite and allowed another friend first refusal, ... he didn't :( The reason I originally chose the 950 was that it doesn't require external PCIe power, which was the reason I didn't immediately snap up the offer of the 980ti, I would have had to solve the power issue. That box has no PCIe power connectors.

Is there a statistic page somewhere that shows the number of Windows 32bit clients attached to the project?

I was wondering how much of an impact that Nvidia's announcement that they are ceasing 32 bit driver support will have on this project.

Also the same applies for the cessation of 32bit support for Linux too.

. . That's a worry, I had not heard of this development. I am running 64 bit but I have friends still running 32 bit.

Read the story on one of the Linux news sites.

NVIDIA Ends Support for 32-bit Operating Systems

This decision will affect all 32-bit systems i.e. Linux, FreeBSD, Microsoft Window 7, Microsoft Windows 8/8.1, and Microsoft Windows 10.

I suspect it will be bugger all.
As it is, there are no current drivers that will support GTX 1000 series GPUs on Vista, even if it is 64bit.
Existing systems will continue to work, and older presently supported GPU hardware will still work in those systems- as well as current hardware up to & including Titan V. You just won't be able to get any new (ie effectively Volta onwards) hardware to run on a 32bit OS.
And given the minimum memory on current (and then the next generation) video cards, it really doesn't make much sense to even run such hardware in such a restrictive OS. Better to put those resources in to better 64bit drivers, than support something that is well past it's use by date.

The article said even the 32 bit drivers will have security updates till 2019, just no bug fixes or added features or support for newer hardware.

Look what has appeared in the SSP;
blc03_2bit_blc03_guppi_58107_15277_OUMUAMUA_0018
Is it....it has to be, only one OUMUAMUA that I know of.

Tasty little morsels to crunch they are.

Very tasty indeed. Both for CPU and GPU. They won't last long though by the looks of things.
Not many files left to split in the SSP.

I'm sure they deliberately don't add more of other blc files, because they want these OUMUAMUA tasks to be crunched ASAP.

. . Funny you should say that because I am getting the most varied assortment of tasks. Other Blc03, Blc03 oumuamua, Blc04, Blc05, lots to choose from ...

Well, since there are no other files being split for blc, other than OUMUAMUA, those other ones should be resends, _2, _3, _4.
Perhaps there's still a few blc wu's of other types still left somewhere in the "Results ready to send" queue, but I doubt it.
I only get OUMUAMUA blc's now, apart of course from Arecibo tasks, and the odd blc resend.

. . In the GPU queue the blc05, blc24, one blc04 and one blc03 oumuamua are resends (_2,_3), the other Blc04s are _0 and _1, but the CPU queue moves much more slowly and it is filled with blc04s that are _0 or _1. So that will slowly change over the next 24 hours I am sure. I cannot fit everything on the screen so the filename column is scrunched and I normally cannot see that part of it :(

You said you're not doing any CPU work, but did you select a CPU app when you did the Lunatics install? If not, that might explain the warning message you're getting.

Mikeworld is for sale, I downloaded the new 0.45b6 Lunatics file from arkayn's site instead.

Never paid anything there. Anyway DL from Arkayn site is fine too.

You are trying to go to Mike's old address. Try http://mikesworld.eu/download.html instead.

Alternate universe it would seem.

Yes, unfortunately that is old Mike's World with the .de

The new one is
http://mikesworld.eu

with .eu instead. Took me a bit to find it as well. Eventually I found it and bookmarked it on my browser.

Then somebody needs to update the links in the Optimised Applications and Other Binaries - NEW: required for v8: Windows Installer v0.44

You must of missed this thread while playing with your junk. ;-)

Cheers.

I have copied the post from Mikes thread into the "Optimised Applications and Other Binaries - NEW: required for v8: Windows Installer v0.44" thread

So hopefully people will see it now.

PS Anyone could have done that.

I went there, the domain is for sale at Mikeworld, there are no files there, unless the link is bad and I wound up in an alternet universe, so I dled from Arkayn after learning that.

I have not seen the "you don't have a valid version of V8" show since 10:34am, it's now 10:57am, so I think the problem is resolved, I deleted the old Lunatics 0.45b6 zip file from 2016 too.

All three sites have the newest installer now, Mikes, Lunatics and my site.

Looks like you'll need to do a couple of Seti WUs, or you won't be able to start the next panic mode thread.

The Scheduler is back to randomly allocating work, although my cache isn't running down too much before it decides to give out some work at the moment.
