I recently signed up for Seti@home after a long absence. In fact, it looks like all of my previous time was prior to Boink coming online. When I rejoined I didn't think my old account still existed so I created a new one. I was just messing around on the website and found my old user name still exists, and still has Seti@home classic work credits on it. I am wondering if it is possible to merge my old account and my new account so that I am credited for Seti@home classic work units, CPU Time, and start date? My old account ID number is 262038. Please let me know if this is possible, and how to go about it if it is. Joe |

Sadly it is not possible to merge BOINC based SETI@Home accounts. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I agree - I had two "classic" accounts, one dating back to 1999, the other to 2003. When BOINC came along I decided to connect my BOINC account to the 2003 classic account because I had run substantially more work on that one than the older one. A "good idea" at the time, but in hindsight it would have been so much nicer to have a 1999 date against my account than 2003. Greets to All, I too had a similar problem when Boinc came along - only I made a complete hash of trying to merge my original account and I lost a significant amount of Seti credit that, for reasons of vanity, if for no other, it would be nice to know how much work I actually had done on/with/for Seti ?! I posted a question to the board at that time, but the replies I got did not really help me to sort it all out, so I lost heart and decided to bin the whole lot ... Just recently I accidentally came across the Bionc client on a very old CD I must have burned back 'in the day' and I have re-installed it and begun to take on Seti work units again via this (new) Boinc instal. This means that ALL of my prior credit has, as far as I am aware, been lost, so my question here is similar to that of this thread's original poster, only my old credit might be with a different type of acct., so can anyone possibly please tell me if there is a way to perhaps discover, and possibly then incorporate, my old WU credit totals into my current acct ?! FYI, from the answers I got to my original post back in 2009, it appeared that there WAS a way to do that (at least back then ...), but I've got no idea what or how to do that today, some 8 years on !! Can anybody out there please help or provide information for me here ? I Thank You All in advance 8^) RG. |

so my question here is similar to that of this thread's original poster, only my old credit might be with a different type of acct., so can anyone possibly please tell me if there is a way to perhaps discover, and possibly then incorporate, my old WU credit totals into my current acct ?! The answer hasn't changed. There is no way to merge/incorporate/add two BOINC accounts together. If you previously had a BOINC account, then created a new one, the two cannot be merged. FYI, from the answers I got to my original post back in 2009, it appeared that there WAS a way to do that (at least back then ...), but I've got no idea what or how to do that today, some 8 years on !! The answers you received in that 2009 thread is that you can add 1 SETI Classic (pre-BOINC) account to 1 BOINC account. This means if you already added your old SETI Classic to your a BOINC account, your SETI Classic cannot be added to a different BOINC account. Otherwise, if your old and new accounts were both under BOINC, they cannot be merged at all. |

I have the problem that the mail address of my old account doesn't exists anymore. How can I login to my old account with reseting the password? |

Assuming you know the old email address and pass word log in on the website using them. Navigate to your Account page and there you should find a button that allows you to change the email address and password. If the old email address doesn't exist anymore, you cannot use that account unless you have the authenticator key for the old account handy. |
