We changed the SETI@home web site to use Twitter Bootstrap, a CSS toolkit. This makes the site usable on small displays, and lets us use color schemes developed by other people (this one is called Darkly).

I like the new layout, looks nice. But, are there any plans for the color scheme to be user-selectable from a choice of several? Slate is a bit hard on my eyes.

Very dark and ominous plus the Server Status is absolutely horrid on the eyes let alone trying to read it. :-(

Cheers.

Wow. Big change. OK.

Normally I'm severely allergic to "upgrades" like these but I gotta admit... this is rather nice :)

Probably stating the obvious here but the country flags look a bit funny on my monitor and quoted text is huge.

And a question: green bar beside profile? user online?

It's working for me here, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html, just don't try reading what's on the green or white areas as it's near impossible. ;-)

Other colour layout options should've been made available instead of just "Slate" so that people could choose a better option.

Cheers.

Server status page is blank for me. The Slate scheme is very hard for me to read certain portions. Please consider returning to the prior color scheme, the new layout is an improvement but a prior 'headsup' would have been nice......." : |

A "Classic Theme" option would be really appreciated; some of the CSS choices in this new theme aren't so great: the super-bold white thread titles are especially hard on my eyes.

The increasing font size in quotes seems like unnecessary shouting, too:

There's no reason to yell.

There's also a strange negative space between the message header and the message body -- I think it may be related to the number of "titles" a user has under their name? If you look at the original post here there's a big margin.

If you select all text it can be easily read, useful until they hopefully change the colours...

They've got to either change the text color on the SSP page or let us choose a user selectable color scheme. Status text is impossible to read now.

Interesting, if you copy and paste http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html in the address box you get to the status page. As has been said before though, reading it is another story. Bad news is that even if the feedback is considered this will probably the the state of things until the next outrage........":(

Another potential annoyance that I'm seeing is that all page titles are now prefixed with "SETI@home:". That means that the more tabs you have open at one time, the more difficult it is to figure out which tab is which, unless you hover your mouse for a second or two to get a popup hint.

Of course, since it's now after 5:00 PM on a Friday in Berkeley, we're likely stuck with this at least until Monday. Sneaky timing, I'd say.

The "Slate" color scheme is difficult to read, for me. From my experience in computers (I am a
retired elec. engr.), yellow characters on a light blue background would be my preferred color
scheme, if the scheme could be modified.
