Message 1972499 - Posted: 29 Dec 2018, 16:36:33 UTC

Greetings,

My current achievement goal is to hit 1M credits with this PC by years end. As of yesterday, 12/28, it has crunched for 2 months. I have 2.5 days to do it and it's over 900K at this moment. Can it do it? We will see. :)

Have a great day! :)

Mark, is there a reason why you've kept one host on the old CUDA42 application instead of using the SoG app like your other hosts?

Must be my oldest one. A core2 that has been running for years.

Actually second oldest. The one I was looking at is from 2007 and the other 780 host is a year older from 2006.

Good luck getting Mark to try Linux. I built and shipped a Linux USB to him which only needed to be booted up. He never even tried it.

The kittyman likes his Windows brand of kibble. You know how picky kitties can get with new kinds of food.

What ain't broke . . . . does not need fixin' in the kittyman's viewpoint.

Ok, i give up then :)

I do understand that sometimes you dont want to mess with other things. I'm not saying he should give up Windows entirely ofc. Just shut down a system , remove the harddrive and put in another one, and boot that Linux USB to install a Ubuntu Desktop. From there a teamviewer session can be made to aid to set it all up and make the WUs fly out of the machines.

If it was to much to cope with, just empty the cache and shutdown to change to the Windows harddrive and never look back.

Congrats mark. I have never been in the league of frozen penny stuff, so there was no way that I could make a Billion at seti, so I had to do it Boinc wide.
