I'm from Canada, just above the USA border, in the land of where they say "You can watch your dog run away for 3 days" yeap it's that flat :P
I have done many things, engine rebuilding, mechanic, machinist, satellite tech (ran an uplink), distance education over sat (from building studios to fixing receive sites) IP over sat to remote locations.
Basically a do it all kind of guy, hands on and find a way to do it if it can be done.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Hmm well back in '99 when I joined, my boss told me about this cool search, then a week later I seen a news report about SETI, so I figured what the hell I will join the project.
My views, that is a tough one. I believe there is an ETI out there to be found, but I really don't think SETI will find it. Heck we can't even figure out how a UFO flies, so do you think their communication isn't way beyond what we can comprehend? My thought ... I hope something is found, someday.
