Here is a computer simulation of the path of today's eclipse.

The red dot shows where you will see the moon in the center of the sun. But the shadow is much larger. Even the mid west will see some of the eclipse.

The last one I saw was in about 1980 or 81. That was a total eclipse. I had to climb a snow covered mountain in Idaho to see it. First and only time I camped in -20f weather with a wind chill that made it feel -40. Even with 10 lbs of down, I was still cold. So get out and see it if you can. It's an event you will not forget.

Here are some sites that will help you understand what you need to view it safely.

It looks like it will be too cloudy here to see much :(

Its started here. I'm in Reno Nevada, so we're supposed to have one of the prime viewings, as long as the clouds stay away.

All of you are lucky!

I haven't seen one since 1994! And who knows when/if I will again.

I am taking pics as it goes, I just set up a piece of cardboard on my car projecting onto the white trailer so I can see the progress.

The camera is on a tripod so I can turn it on, take a pic and shut it down without having to keep focusing.

Looks like I am as covered as I will get right at this moment.
It is a very slow moving eclipse because of it heading into sunset/moonset.

I only got one pic with the tail end of the eclipse. We did have interesting display of cresents on my son's bedroom wall. Sorry, no pic of that.

I didn't take many pictures. But I just downloaded my iPhone. Looks like my daughter got a pretty good shot. This was thru a pin camera that I set up.

Very pretty Carlos, that's something one doesn't see everyday, a crescent Sun.

Nice.

Sadly we couldn't see a thing because it was so cloudy. :(
