You want a 'Just Mobile Cooling Bar', Magenta.
A bit expensive for an aluminium rod but should provide enough (passive) cooling even when crunching in hot climates.
And if you got the version with two GPUs do NOT keep it on the smaller one for longer than necessary - it can overheat. Small design flaw...

Aussies seem to go for style when it comes to shiny new toys :)

Hi Klc...yeah, I'm great.

I've had my "ibook g4" for six years, and have loved her from day one - never a virus, never shut down or froze for no reason, beautiful to look at - I am sure I'll be just as in love with my new one.

The reason for the upgrade is I need to learn a particular design software for school, which my "classic Mac" can't support. I will miss her...for a little while. I am going to give her to the Bat's middle boy - he's twelve.

Six years is a long time for a computer, and a testament to Mac quality, which has only been repaired once - I left her on the floor over night and stood on her in the morning...I heard the screen crack underfoot. Clearly my fault.

I know what you mean. My next door neighbor is a graphics design artist.
She's always doing the update/upgrade. She also still goes to college and as two small children.
(She just recently had enough of her ne'er-do-well husband, and threw his stuff out on the front lawn.)
But Mac's are great, especially when it comes to the type of work you and she do.

EDIT:
Hi Monday!!!

Hi Mike, Hi Klc, and everybody else...

I have to wait a week though - because it is being custom configured...waiting is something I am not particularly good at. Especially when the software is going to be shipped straight away because it is in stock.

I am up early this morning, getting ready for orientation day at school.

I am really excited, but also nervous - I have to start all over with people, and make new friends etc. I am finishing 1st year this year (last year and this year are part time) and I have to do the more artsy subjects like fashion illustration, and range development. Quite different from last year, which was more what I am familiar with i.e. garment construction etc.
