Reproduced on my host 1791152: kept getting HTTP Internal Server Error until I threw out an old Astropulse v5.00 app I had lying around in app_info. Reported on the boinc_alpha server bug-reporting list. Thanks BuddyWolly for tracking this down. |

I found that in my case the HTTP Server internal error was related to my app_info.xml file. This contained references to older application versions which are no longer used. (the content of app_info.xml is reported on any update) That was the problem. Got rid of all the old versions and it working now. Thanks so much for the solution to the problem. |

I used the Lunatics site, should I change my info file for the Astropulse v5.00? Doesn't really matter what you used: there have been so many changes, so many different versions, so many suggestions for things that that you might or might not change yourself, that the only acid test is for you to look inside your own copy and see what you find there. IF you're getting this specific error message ("HTTP Internal Server Error") when you try to report or request new work, then yes, you've quite possibly got a old application name in there, and removing it will help resolve the problem more quickly. But hopefully my bug report will alert someone: David Anderson sometimes codes on a Sunday evening, and it should be easy to fix, tomorrow if not today. You could just wait for that to happen. |

I threw out references to old obsolete apps months ago. I have been running with AP 505, MB 603 and CUDA 608 since then. Still having problems connecting to Berkeley this weekend. Downloads work well if you can get the work assingnments. Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

I personally still suspect something wrong in the works somewhere.... I have not generally seen this much trouble connecting to the server or HTTP errors when trying to report work when the traffic is this low....Cricket is showing about half capacity, and this morning I saw unable to connect errors as well as HTTP errors or HTTP service unavailble once connected. Either the spike table merge that Matt is working on is still running in the background, current Boinc code is flummoxing the system, or something else is just not fully up to speed for some unknown reason. I posted in another thread.. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=60935&nowrap=true#1021690 just a few minutes ago about me having to do a detach/attach to get rid of ghosts. Had very little trouble getting plenty of new work. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

The replica is still off line so it's very possible that the spike table merge is taking place on that data base. It wouldn't be a big deal except that they run the disk I/O over the LAN possibly causing a traffic problem with our downloads. I would have to know more about the data flow to be sure if this is a problem. |

Whatever it is, I hope they clear it on Monday when they take the limits off for cache building before the next outage...... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Doesn't seem fair. The project is down 3 days a week and then when the project is up there are comms problems. Just does not seem fair! Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

I have all I want and have set no new task in preparation for a vacation. When I am unable to watch the system I reduce the load on the UPS and reduce the heat production in case of a hot spell. |

I have been unable to connect to the server for close to a week now. All I get is the HTTP internal server error; Project communication failed; Internet access OK: project servers may be temporarily down; Scheduler request failed:attempting access to reference site. Am I out of luck with my application now because of the changes that Seti@Home has made? When I was able to get WU's last, I got the invalid app error. I run a legacy operating system. We only have the one application that has ever been written for it. Is the problem of older application version in the app_info.xml file the reason I can no longer communicate with the project? I also recently installed a Ubuntu Linux system onto this computer and have been switching between the OS's occasionally. When I booted into the Linux system, it had no problems getting new work after the servers came back online. Is there anything I can do to correct the issue on my end with the eComStation application? Can I edit something in the app_info.xml file that will fix it and not break the application further. Can I spoof some other version of the application to make Seti believe I am running a more recent version of the application?
