Spring is just around the corner. Temps in Eastern Nebraska are in the 40's with light to moderate rain showers predicted for the entire week. Unfortunately, as "April showers bring May flowers", "March showers (following a snowy/icy winter) bring floods". The Loup and Big Blue Rivers are already spilling over a bit, with the Elkhorn and Platte Rivers rising slightly with minor overflows.
And, for the first time in about 85 days, I can see patches of earth and grass in the yard.

No lawn here, Just gravel and crab grass, No landscape fabric is under the gravel, So there's crab grass.

Rain turned into snowflakes today. Will spring ever come? We had a real beautiful sunrise though, promised a lot but it wasn't meant to be...

Well then It's warmer there than here, Here It's windy(23mph/30mph-gusts) and 64°F / 18°C, But since the trees are sprouting and the grass is growing, Summer temps are only about 2.5 months away around here, Who knows maybe this area will have a cooler than normal summer? One can wish(It's free too). :D

Well the areas San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Riverside & maybe Orange Counties have some of the Dirtiest air in the US, Thankfully It doesn't creep up the pass into the High Desert, As It's a Yellow color and It seems worse now than when I grew up down in the Los Angeles basin. Right now HSR in California has Bonds($10 Billion for the SF to LA route, equipment and infrastructure) that haven't been sold and the $2.25 Billion in Stimulus funds may be in Danger If the CHSRA(California High Speed Rail Authority) isn't allowed to do what they need to do, Sorry, I don't have those details. And now I learned that the FRA wants to make sure that the trains are heavier than they need to be and there are FRA regs in the way that are there to keep trains slow, Not good. Hopefully Congress can fix these problems.

It looks like we may lose the rest of the snow around my parts this week. Im starting to see the grass in the back yard, (along with all the dog droppings from the winter months)

Today: Cloudy with 30 percent chance of rain showers or wet flurries this morning. Clearing near noon. Wind northeast 20 km/h. High 11. UV index 5 or moderate.

Tonight: Clear. Wind northeast 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low minus 4.

Tuesday: Sunny. High 14.

Wednesday: Sunny. Low minus 2. High 14.

Thursday: Cloudy. Low plus 3. High 10.

Friday: Cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers. Low plus 4. High 11.

Saturday: Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries or rain showers. Low minus 1. High plus 5.

Sunday: Snow mixed with rain. Low zero. High plus 4.

The Ski Resorts say they have a snow base of over 100 cm and should be fine for the March Break and after that Id like to head towards the 20 degree C mark and get the Golf Courses open again. I've had enough with winter.

The two main criteria for Officially Declaring Pseudo-Spring have happened here in London:

The last dirty chunk of snow next to the driveway melted.

I took down the Christmas lights.

This usually means sort of spring for a week or so, then another blizzard, then real Spring.

Was very sunny and high wispy clouds, light winds and the temperature was heading towards 15c.

Now the wind has freshened, the clouds come in dull, threatening rain and the temperature has dropped to 7c.

I expect the rain will stay away, but remain cool
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

The grass hasn't managed to recover from Winter here yet, but I did spray one or two weeds on the driveway this morning - don't want them getting a hold!
