NP.

Grin, you made a typo in my name that is usually done by "hard core Frisians" ;)
Thanks for the info S@NL-Easger.
Sagan's stats pages are up to date again.
I got a good boost as I have been crunching during outages and all holiday.

That was an unexpected outage.
Another one this Sunday 3rd and then the normal Tuesday outage.
The cobwebs will be well out the way then.

My thanks go out to whoever did the server kickin'! Here it's a bank holiday, I'm assuming the same for the US!

Whether it was remotely done or whether somebody drove up to the lab, THANK YOU!

regards, Gizbar.

you would have never noticed the outage.

There was an outage?

There was an outage. The most noticeable part for me was the message boards were down. I have enough projects attached to my computers so that a single project going down is hardly noticeable.

Me I just waited, As I played MULE online or watched TV or something else that a disabled person does when their home. One game had Me against a guy from India and a guy from Sweden, God the lag on that game was stiff, And I lost, But I had a good time with a FREE game.

Sorry Ned, I assume you're being sarcastic, but a bank holiday in the UK is not for the banks, it is a public holiday, LOL!

Maybe we can think of this little outage as a test. If we didn't make it through this one we need to increase our cache a bit to make it through tomorrow. :-)

Now, if only someone would wander in today and fix the replica database so we can see our results on the tasks page.

I did understand the term. If the banks observe the holiday, a lot of other organizations will as well.

... but there are people who are more dedicated than the average bank employee (and at least here, bank employees are pretty average), and fortunately, that includes the SETI@Home operators.

They will become "unstuck" as soon as the replica DB comes online and in sync again. That will probably not happen until after the Sunday outage though. The problem is an effect of the Mork crasch recently.

Poor Mork, He must miss Mindy quite a bit, No wonder Mork crashed. ;)

Replica DB falling badly behind now. 3,516 seconds, or about 59 minutes as of now.

That's the reason why you can't see your most recent WU's, if anyone started to wondering...

It's at around this time of day that the .xml stats dumps are generated for the external stats sites to use - that's a heavy load on the replica database server, and it's probably not a very good idea to be doing updates at the same time. It will be interesting to see if the replica recovers of its own accord over the next hour or two, or whether it's the first sign of another panic.

Edit - I see Scarecrow has provided another of his invaluable graphs (second on page) - you can see the pattern of daily spikes very clearly.

Again the same hiccup a connect fail, then the wrong size and then it downloads. Is there a slight hiccup for Seti?
