But i´m not a winter fan.
So what.

Neither am I, But It is pretty while It lasts and We need the snow pack for the ground water for summer and drinking use, The more the better.

It normally doesn't last too long here either, but that is the second of three storms to roll thru this week. Tomorrow afternoon the big one is supposed to hit us.

Here the Big One is a reference to a massive earthquake, As in off the scale.

In Vancouver today:

-2°C, cloud, visibility 5+ km, winds out of the ENE at about 4 knots, seas running at about 1 meter. All of which doesn’t sound so bad. . .unless you spent an hour chipping ice off of the stanchions and lines. Burrrr!

[edit] Oh, yeah, presently the barometer reads 1020 mb and falling, so tomorrow might be fun. (irony implied, of course) :o)

A damp 3C here in SW England. It's nice to get a respite from the frost - my Palm trees will certainly be glad of the break!

We've seen more frost here this Winter than any time in the last decade. November was the coldest for 12 years and the first 2 weeks of December the coldest for 25 years. Global warming, eh?

Last November in Italy was the warmest ever. Now we have rain and abundant snow in the mountains. Climate and weather are different.

Two Words...

Summer Xmas :-)

The NZ Xmas tree is the Pohutukawa tree. It's a big evergreen tree that has bright red flowers about this time of year. BBQs and beers, trips to the beach, all those good Xmas things ;-)

You have very short days this time of year don't you Moon? Ours are dark & depressing enough in the UK, but I think it is even worse for you. 21st of December sees the days starting to get longer again here, but sadly we get the worst of our Winter weather in January & February normally, so we also have that to look forward to!

Hei Andy ;-) Yes.. thats the same here.. after the shortest day at the
21st of december ( that was after all what we really celebrated at this time
of year, you know ;-) - then we get the worst weather in Jan and Febr..with
normally much storms. And IF we get any snow, it comes in March.. mmmhh.
But yes.. Its very short days now, and when time is about 04.30 pm, we have the
feeling its at least 8 pm.. Its pretty confusing really. ;-) In morning...there is no morning.. But time tells it is.. sigh.. ;-D

Matthew, there is another storm hitting NM today and tonight that will probably get to you just in time to ruin your weekend.

Most of it is supposed to go north of I40, but you'd better check the weather along your route. You may get stranded in ABQ for a day or two before making your way on up north.

At least all the roadwork is finished between Edgewood and ABQ now.

And give me a wave to the north as you pass between the Sedillo Hill and Zuzax exits. ;)

Urgh! Cold rain, there is nothing worse. We suffer it all too frequently here.

Right now though it is milder than it has been for weeks. A balmy 8C.

I don't quite get to ABQ. We depart the interstate at Clines Corners.

Yes, I am keeping track of the weather, my wife calls it obsessing.
