Here's what I am aware of: setiforums@ssl.berkeley.edu -goes directly to the Admin-mods cannot see it and have no way to know who is answering it or when setimods@ssl.berkeley.edu -The original email address for the Mods (Admin can view these if he/she chooses to do so). This now forwards to: seti_moderators@ssl.berkeley.edu - The new email address for the Mods (again viewable by the Admin). No info on Setiweb-I don't use it but I strongly suspect it forwards to the mod list |

I guess it depends on whether Admin have time to deal with forum issues as well as try to run the project? Maybe they are just too busy which is why they have appointed moderators to act on their behalf? Now you're preaching to the choir. No info on Setiweb I see that name a lot. me@rescam.org |

Here's what I am aware of: setiweb is the address all those charming mod notices come from. That is why people want to know if they can reply to it. It's a logical thing to ask...of course it is also understandable, considering that it is named 'setiweb' (see sarge's post below) that people might be suspicious of it. That youtube account was around before the email address. Reality Internet Personality |

The observant would see it's registered on a heck of a lot more places than just youtube. me@rescam.org |

Setiweb Lets look at the obvious. When a message in the forum is moderated it is on a "web page." The web page is on a Seti Web Server. Any mailer daemon in a form that emails something/anything has to have a proper return email address (or email servers will not accept it). Someone posts a Red-x or someone moderates your post both come from a web page, thus "setiweb" it identifies where things come from on an automated process... It "probably" is a valid mailbox (it could be an alias which is also valid email address), it is probably only checked when something in the mailing process is broken (looking for message headers for errors). In the mean time is a valid email address. It may very well end up in Matt's inbox, He has stated that he has put "it" all in the trash on several occasions. he has put "it" all in the trash on several occasions. My most frequently used operating system feature... ;) (My second most frequently used operating system feature would be the 'bounce' command.) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

The obvious is that there already is an address where moderation messages come from. So, why did some people get them (moderation messages) from a separate address? Hmmm? The rest of you seem oblivious to the fact that moderation messages were coming from that address. Hence, the address is justifiably suspect. 'Nuff said in this thread. Recently the email address that is the source of the moderation emails has changed. I believe that it used to be setimods@ssl.berkeley.edu. I believe that it is currently seti_moderators@ssl.berkeley.edu. BOINC WIKI |

he has put "it" all in the trash on several occasions. I looked for one of those on gmail..but couldn't find it :( I used to have all the seti mod notices go to the trash. That way i wasn't spammed every morning...that is how i noticed that they had changed the address mod notices come from. Reality Internet Personality |
