Morning all!

We made it through the night. One of the windiest nights I have experienced. Spent half the night laying in bed listening to everything crashing around outside. We lost power for an hour or so, but it's back on and all the machines restored, yay!

We have high tide to contend with yet, that's in an hours time and apparently the Sea will breach the defences, but the Council are on the front with sandbags and flood barriers.

The tail of the system is due through by lunchtime so another lot of strong winds to come, but I think we'll fair ok as we got through the night without any damage.

Oh, the highest winds in the night were 84MPH, but the pre-lunch affair is expected to be slightly stronger.

Now, where is that much needed coffee?!

Another day shift member reporting for posting?

Looks like we had a mild night, some strong winds and lots of rain. Bent a few trees, and makes it uncomfortable on the roads. Nothing like Andy had sown in the SW.

Soon time to think of a magic posting number for someone to grab and win!!

Oh! Richard - the coffee is fine, but you missed Mike.
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

It has been a very wild winter in my area...Thankfully this past weekend was rather calm...I hope there was not too much damage from this big wind.

Anyone got any more coffee?

I've just come in from the garden & i'm soaked through. Went out to clear up some of the debris, but found damage to my roof when I was out there and it looks costly to fix. Call to the insurance company shortly.
The wind has picked up here again. It's howling right now and the rain is coming down in sheets.

Yeah...Richard just sent down some coffee...

Roof damage is bad news...that's always expensive to fix.

Thanks for the coffee Richard!

Weather report says the worse is to come for us :(
Reports of the coast road being bombarded by fist sized pieces of granite being thrown up by the waves this morning. Good thing the road was closed!

Morning Monday.
I am still here, just about hanging on! I am sat in my home office watching the wind rip the garden apart. No more damage to the house fortunately, but the roof over my BBQ area has gone now, as have some of the fences.
