Hi!

I see there have been many technical changes here in SETI@home web site. Almost every week there is something new. For example, "Send private message" is not a link anymore, it is a button now. I also noticed that when I watch someone's message history I cannot see the texts "Cafe SETI", "Number Crucnhing" etc. anymore. :(

Sometimes I like changes, sometimes I do not...

Unfortunately they use us SETI SUpPoRTERS and POSTers for experements...you get used to it ... DONT worry.

[edit] These students at Berklry learn much more about coding in the real world from their mistakes than from lectures so be patient my friend. It's all OK.

I like quite a lot of the technical changes. I am looking forward to the one my son just suggested where "if you don't like a poster you should be able to (virtually) shoot them and there will be blood and stuff".

Good grief, you could patent the "SETI Cafe War Games" and make a mint. I demand 10% for thinking of the idea and exploiting the ideas of your son ;)

Henri, it's what's called "Let's tinker with the forums to make it look like we're doing something and deflect attention." I particularly like how the Inbox no longer requires them to click on the title of each message when they snoop through our inboxes. :)

Or some threads in the message board's thread list (e.g. Cafe SETI or SETI@home Science) are highlighted with light green color - what does it mean?

First they were white, now green. What's with these ones having a different color? Are they trying to test a new color scheme?

Got it. It was meant for answered Q&A threads. Will be possibly deprecated.

Something like this could be used to highlight someone's subscribed threads (i.e. "threads of interest).
Also a list of subscribed threads will be added at bottom of forum index

Forgot to say - it's the same like the color bands visually separating single messages and quotations etc. in each thread.
